Beautiful collaboration between Turkey and Pakistan. Rustam Fateh Ali Khan starts with a traditional bandish in Raag Abhogi Kanhra which belongs to Kafi Thaat. It includes 5 notes and omits the the 5th (PA) and the 7th (NI). 3rd (GA) is flat and 4th (MA) is flat too or Shudh. The bandish is set to Ektaal or a cycle of 12 beats!

It is a derived scale (janya raga), as it does not have all the seven swaras (musical notes). Hi Pakistani friends, this performing sounds like a bluesy modern jazz...isnt´t it? And at the same time, so great and sophisticated. Why most of the powerful vocalists sings and move their hands as if they were playing an invisible instrument? WOW absolutely fluid. So beautifully collaborated. Seems like these two kinds of music were meant to be together. To me music is music.
