While Cheap Trick could have been portrayed with, say, a puppet of some sort, having it be a full on actor is both hilarious, but also shows the literal "weight" the thing puts on someone.

That also bothers me, it takes away the creative and artistic part of the manga work, the Kamen Rider and Ultraman still exist and they don't spend millions of dollars on mannequins or exaggerated costumes, especially to make two stands that are quite small and capable of adapting

I like how they tried to incorporate the Part 4 stuff with their more grounded style. Making Cheap Trick look like the last person it kills is a great way to incorporate the concept and give the person playing Masazo more screen time. And having the ghost alley actually feature real hands instead of CGI ones may look goofy at first, but it's still effective.

@CostaTheMeme Good call, probably. They might not have enough of a budget to get good CGI, so they stick to realism more. I honestly like it more because there's kind of an oversaturation of CGI stuff in television, it's nice having shows that uses mostly natural special effects.

@@Tekape it's an adaptation, they're taking an existing work (Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan) and putting their own unique spin on it. While the original is still good, it's interesting to see how they tied together all of the different episodes from the original manga. In the end they aren't required to follow the manga to the letter since, again, it is an adaptation.

They are stands that are easier to adapt, why CGI? They are not making a centipede, Ramiel from Evangelion or Inque from Batman Beyond

@@weeraartounhattapradit8376 While I can imagine a drama adaptation of the Boy II Man arc, if they decide to keep the yokai theme going on, I think the Highway Star arc is a bit too relient on Josuke for it to be possible. Now, an arc that could work in an adaptation is the Achtung Baby arc, with Rohan and Izumi instead of Josuke and Joseph.

I like how the TV Drama knows the limitations of Live Action and adapt things like Cheap Trick accordly, to keep it funny and interesting. It's really awesome how they circunveit the use of CGI with practical effects as well. Really nicely done.

I haven't seen a lot of people claim its a reality bending stand but the stand is still powerful. Even if it did have some form of reality bending I do believe its a fair trade considering its lack of combat/physical abilities. Stands like Cheap Trick and Highway to Hell also lack physical powers but could one shot a lot of characters.

It was fun to me to see the parallels between the manga, the anime and the live action. You can see that it may not have a big budget but it worked well. I enjoyed the alley bit. Also loved the translation of the Jojo fashion into a real person. I hope we can get the rest of the chapters in the future...

It would be cool if the next season deals with a drama version of Kira. It would use elements of part 4 (like Kira himself and Reimi) while also making a completely original story. To be honest, a nice detective story to find a serial killer who is terrorizing town could totally work.

The writing of the drama is so amazing, it connects so many stories together, even though being a live action drama it can't do amazing scenes and imagery like the manga or anime

This TV drama is my second favorite type of adaptation, the kind that takes the elements of an already existing story and uses it in it's own creative favour, showing the potential that these concepts have for story telling, while at the same time being respectful to the source material, expanding stories in such genius ways is something I really love

I completely love this drama I really liked how the Cheap Trick arc was adapted into the main story (and how it seemed to foreshadow Arnold, with the dog barking at the end) I hope we get to see more seasons, as I would like to see the Boy II Man arc in the series (Maybe even bring Shakedown Road or Milagro Man from Jojolion!!!) What a great series ^^

I like that Izumi suggesting there could be 6 yokai sets up another season. My guess is the next three stories to be adapted will be "A Rainy Monday," "The Harvest Moon," and one of the short stories as well. "Okami-Sama" might work since it sorta ties into Rohan's purchase of Mutsukabe hill, but I think "Blackstar" or "Yuyanagidai" would also be good

i really liked how episode 1 showed Rohan being a little more of a normal human. he's self-reflective about his overpowering curiosity being dangerous for him (which is probably fresh on his mind after dealing with that word...that word that i cant seem to remember). also, because of how they redid the final treadmill scene, Rohan shows how afraid he is but gets back on the treadmill anyway, because Yoma will attack him if he doesnt. originally, the whole thing happened during the same run, so he didnt have any choice in the matter, or have a chance to react emotionally. in episode 2...man, whoever the actor is that played Kinoto _has_ to be a japanese comedian. he was just too good at the body humor. i was most worried about how they'd manage to adapt this one, since they had to replace 90% of the story. but they did it great. in episode 3, when Rohan is reading the events, i liked how it made him 'present' in the scene. i thought that was a really fun way of keeping him tied into the story that didnt originally feature him much at all. wish they would've done it more.

@@jamesc2889 The drama suppose to aim towards wider audience who's not a regular Jojo fan, Thus Spoke Rohan is sort of a Spin-Off to DiU since there's no Live action of Rohan appear in DiU movie before, throwing stands and other Jojo characters would confused a lot of casual viewer, and because this drama suppose to be a continous series instead of stand alone episode with no relation to other episodes, the series beside Rohan need a female lead protagonist also as a support character and of course it would sell very well to casual female audience that imagine themselves in Izumi role or male audience that like the cuteness of Izumi to actually watch the series. I think if they change Izumi role to Koichi it would confused a lot of casual fan more and since stands is refer as Special gift, Echoes probably be an ability that we didnot get to see it and it would pissed Jojo fans a lot since I already see people dislike the series for not showing an accurate CGI Heaven's Door and Cheap Trick

I think it would be cool if they used a mix of cgi and physical special effects for stands in this show - instead of having a cgi stand floating around (part 4 live-action movie) they could have a kid actor or smaller person fit into a special made cheap trick suit or heaven door suit, and apropriate them around the characters digitally (or just have them on their back in cheap tricks case) I think this would definitely make stands feel more realistic and have it fit better into the show than any cgi type stand would, however, I think what they did with cheap trick was alright.

If your getting the same actor to play Dio, Dio is in a different body and its also the fact that its based on travel from Japan to Egypt, so good luck with that, and I think half of the minor villains would be cut out and make that Live Action Stardust Crusaders is 2 movies

I must say, I really don’t like the choice in Run to make final trial not the one uninterrupted run, but make Rohan to choose to do this live-endangered escapade. While, it is in Rohan character to do something like that, it’s still robbing this scene of all tension and dynamic, which were in original manga. This, and other little nuances is the reason I much more prefer DP adaptation of Run. Still, loved the rest of dorama, especially the Cheap Trick one, really well handled adaptation on it’s own right.

i am not sure if i don't understand somthing about king crimson, but if diavolo and only diavolo can move freely in skiped time, how can he move with his clothing still on him (wouldnt it stay still or moved by fate)and when diavolo finds polnereff, how can he take off dopio's shirt in skiped time?
