Rohit and Virat not just failed 8 test matches buts its 8x2 = 16 innings. Not to forget another 3 tests before these where he failed also. So total 24 innings he failed with batting average of 18+. No Indian batsmen been given so many chances with a hope he will shine. So country knowingly should NOT give him another test match in Sydney. It’s a bit weird, because he was playing quite well up until the Eng series early in the year. Then he obviously had a fab T20 WC, and he was India’s only performing batsman in the SL ODI series. Then his form has just nosedived. He can’t have slowed down in hand eye coordination in just a few months. Something is messed up in his mind. But it’s looking really bad.

Rohit Sharma needs to play an innings of many many balls. It does not matter how many runs he scores. Long innings will be a boooooost to his confidence. Right now the mental picture in his mind is that of small scores in last 10+ innings and his heart wants to break that fact into pieces from a big score. He should play a long long innings balls wise to give himself a confidence that if I stick it out then they can't get my wicket. Bottomline is to defend the good balls, strike the weak ones and let go of those out of reach. This is test match not ODI so take your time. Ravi Shastri had wrong advice that Rohit should counterattack the bowlers n get on top of them. Counterattack puts probabilities of mistakes on the high and that's wat happened today. Btw, give Rohit some good free time and consults to figure things out. Good 2 to 3 years of test cricket left in both Rohit n Kolhi. Kolhi has figured out his weakness over outside off but fell to it due to tremor in the mind from the run out wicket before. Also, 5th test, captaincy should be given to Bumrah. Bowlers or allrounders make better captains.

I would like to see upper age limit set up for Test Cricket by ICC and the respective boards. Test cricket is more of a physically demanding format that will also lead to mental toughness. So players above the age 35 should not be allowed to continue regardless of their legacy in the game, which would help the budding aspirants go to the next level. May be those exceptional players above that age of 35 can be allowed to continue with their team as a support staff at the board's discretion. Else we will have to deal with Rohit Sharmas and VKs at the fag end of their career

BCCI fked it up for some ICC trophies because our stupid fans wanted it on the basis of Rohit's 5 plastic trophies. These very fans were criticizing Kohli and now look where it got us. We have lost our Test team. For what? A cheap T20WC. Kohli gave us 3 test maces. Fan pressure and BCCI ruined test cricket for us. Rohit should retire. He was never a test player, leave alone a test captain.

I think he should have this test last chance and then get benched for the last match against Australia. Bumrah should be the Captain for the last test match. Quit with the little dignity that he has.

Mr. Sharma has single handedly destroyed test cricket scene since becoming captain, even 99's Sachin was not this clueless. Getting him quietly into test side as a batsman at number 6 (over likes of Karun etc.) by Shastri was questionable itself. But then what conspired later with him being the captain has to go down in the recent history as one of the biggest blunders. These on-payroll "experts" and his in-house PR team haven't helped the matters either. Hope this misery ends soon!

Even if he scores 200 in all 3, he should retire and pave way for new captain for the new cycle
