I love this matchup so much because Tokido is a sage like dude, always trying to stay composed and calm while Itabashi is a gremlin in the best kind of way. You can tell they both have mad respect for each other and the rivalry is the stuff of legend.

Gief is just hard to win with due to his character archetype but, I don't think he's remotely bad. He's definitely not top tier or top ten but, he's nowhere near the bottom. The issue is that this game has too many ways to deal with grapplers and Capcom is scared to make them too strong. Look at Alex and even more recently, Abigail. They practically destroyed Abigail because of bitching from the community. I hate Abigail but, even I think they went a bit overboard with his nerfs and I think Gief could use a few minor buffs to round him out into a super solid character.

@@InstantKarma18 Lol no skill to play a grappler, right... Considering 85% has options, tools, zoning to keep Gief out getting a 5 frame spd requires skill, it's called reactions/hard reads and patience

@@InstantKarma18 I don't want to say scrub but practice more man. If you know what you're looking for, you'll probably know when he's gonna grab 80% of the time. HIs armor is scary tho if the Gief player know how to use them, like Itabashi there. If anything, Akuma is the cheap one.
