I was almost in tears at the end . Tokido is such a legend, he's a role model
@zzlai62354 жыл бұрын
These two legends are the true embodiments of the FGC ideals. Daigo is the ideal FGC player, analytical and mechanically skilled, as he slowly dismantles his opponents from every small mistake they make. That is the highest level gameplay of a fighting game one can reach, as in a perfect scenario, mistakes and habits are what makes a player lose in a fighting game. Tokido is the ideal embodiment of "the grind", the one thing that every single FGC player has to go through when they enter the scene. Unlike most other competitive games, a fighting game match lasts a couple minutes. That's not a lot of time to process all of your mistakes, and it takes an unimaginable amount of perseverance and grit to grind yourself to become the very best of the game you choose. These two embody the peak and the journey of all FGC players, and that's why they are legends.

Tokido have become my favorite player in any Fighting game, his passion and dedication is unmatched, and the level of RESPECT he have for Daigo is even higher.....normal rivalries in many games are build on hate or jealousy....but both Daigo and Tokido have immense respect for each other...Daigo sees Tokido as already (even before Tokido finally defeat him in a long set) as the undeniably best SF player in the world....but Tokido didn't see it that way, for him, even if Daigo isn't winning tittles or big tournaments, Daigo in his eyes is still the definition of the BEST, he say it himself that the shadow Daigo's name projects is too big. See this rivalry founded in RESPECT is just such a joy to see, every time they meet is special no matter who win and what score they got, you can feel, their excitement, their passion for the game and the desire to be THE BEST, not because they hate each other, simply because they RESPECT THE OTHER THAT DAMN MUCH.....and see Tokido finally archive this goal and Daigo been HAPPY about....that's heartwarming .

@@thedragontactic Yes, the title is a bit misleading. I don't think either of them considers this a war on the other. I also don't think Topanga was a really fair measurement. Daigo came rather unprepared / underprepared. Especially given recent results, (Daigo beating Tokido 10-0 in another FT10 and then handily beating him for CPT Qualifier), it seems Tokido still has a way to go. I understand that it's a nice way to end this excellent tiny documentary, but stating that Tokido has become the face of Street Fighter because of that Topanga win, is a real stretch. Don't get me wrong, I like Tokido a lot and he is one of my favorite fighting game players of all time. But if you ask people which player is the most iconic Street Fighter player of all-time, I am fairly sure that Daigo will still come out on top. Probably followed by Tokido.

"tokido was finally the best" Hell forever be the guy who chased daigos shadow and succeeded while diago IS and will forever be street fighter itself

it's probably more of time catching up to him. like these young bucks beating legends in mma

@@30yovegan34 those long sets def show that age doesnt matter in games. Sure we "non pro" human beings think that but its only duo less & less time to practice/play duo kids/job etc. physical sport like mma sure is different tho.

That is some truly shrewd shit Daigo. "Hey, I'm gonna teach you how to get better. That guy who's #1 right now? I can teach you to play JUST like him".... Then beat the breaks off of him.

I swear, whenever I see Daigo versus Tokido videos pop up in my feed, it's an insta-click!

I honestly believe daigo just goes to these tournaments to have fun.

That's kinda how he is these days lmao. He still has the competitive spirit where he will "try" and can get upset if he loses or whatever but he isnt too bothered by it anymore. Hes just playing for as long as he still can

Following your videos, I'm pretty sure FGC stories you made are so anime.

Tokido and Daigo are like Kobe and MJ. While Kobe's the one chasing the ghost that played in Chicago, Tokido chased the phantom that played all over Japan's arcades

tokido has been a long time running japanese fighting game god , losing in a first to 10 against daigo nothing to be ashamed of , overcoming that a few years later is a monumental accomplishment and he is truly deserving of this , not to make any johns for my personal favorite player Daigo but he has been in a decline , But got damn does tokido deserve the mantle ...

I remember the first time I saw Tokido in person was at NCR 2019, and the first thing I noticed about him was his very good back posture

People talk about reads, yomis and such but these 2 guys don't even play for the rewards anymore. They play for the glory and that's something not a lot of people have as their motivation. This is deep taking it to another level.
