Just got onto this chanel. Must say, of all the ones I watch, this is really what I like. No loud screaming and theatrics, no stupid stunts, no false claims. Just pure good videography, sense of humour, amazing scenes and good old fishing and living. You deserve much more. Your Chanel is really good. Work on the algorithm. Great stuff. Now need to start watching your videos from the start

I park my boat bow into the waves at the beach. Plenty of rope/rode out so when you get back in the boat to leave you can just pull the boat with anchor rope into deeper water and lower the motor and start up. Raise the anchor last. I also put up large tarp tent on land and then put my sleeping tent underneath. Rain and sun protection, heaps better comfort.

Rod have you ever use Permethrin on your clothing and camping gear? It is relatively low impact and really reduces the mozzies and midges by a lot. (although not completely.) but it really works when you spray it on your tent and other camping gear.

Oysters grow best when connected to old oyster shell. Try your best to return shells to wear you collected them. In NSW we can only jar the oysters we take recreationally. I'm not sure on Qld but would be worth checking. They looked fantastic though. Oysters that size are a real treat wild foraged.

Love your videos!! Just wanted to let you know about and anchor device used just for how you had your boat tied up called an Anchor Buddy it's a rubber bungee with a woven outside. It keeps tension on your line and doesn't jerk on the anchor.

Hey Rod, awesome video as usual, I do a bit of tinny camping and don't have my anchors drag, but notice I have more chain than you (maybe too much as its from my fibreglass boat!). I read you are supposed to have the boat lengths worth and yours is much shorter....
@rokkitkit6 ай бұрын
Cheers mate, Yea my front anchor has a decent amount of chain, at least 3 meters I think, the rear anchors was just made quick for this trip and had a small amount of chain I had in the garage. The issue was that even the front with chain was pulling as the chop lifted the front of the boat as there was no sand for it to grip into, once you were off the small sand edge where the anchor needed to be it was all small rocks and rubble so it couldn’t dig in unfortunately. I probably could have made it grip if really needed but the thought of just leaving my boat getting smashed on the edge of all that rock while the tide dropped and rose again didn’t seem like a good option😅👍
@T4Abyss6 ай бұрын
@@rokkitkit yeah I saw you made the call to not stay so it wouldn't smash up and that's the right thing to do; I've had a transducer snap off in a similar scenario so am always conscious about that, and as you did, turning around so the waves don't come over the back. Deffo worth having that second anchor I've found, especially with just one and a change of wind over night coupled with a high tide can leave you high and dry for much longer....learnt that the hard way too 😂
