I just want to take the opportunity to say how grateful I am everytime I get to watch another RoKKiT KiT video. Initially your channel was the salvation of my mental health. Now, it has become like therapy every week. When life get's too stressful, I just turn on your channel and rewatch your adventures. Thank you so much, to you and your family, for providing such a genuinely NICE channel, full of adventures that are unique to your neck of the woods/ocean. It could not be more appreciated!

Love your videos rod!! You are so lucky to be able to fish in such a beautiful place like Australia.
@Funkteon2 жыл бұрын
Most of Australia's waterways and beaches are teaming with fish, and you never have to wait long for a bite. I grew up in Tasmania at the south end of Australia, and there are places where you don't even need bait on your line, you can just drop your empty hook in front of you at the jetty and you'll catch something in under a minute... Where are you from?

The bulk of my day wasn't good, but it ended on a high note, which included finding your video waiting in my stream. What could be better. 😁 I really do enjoy these island hopping, catch & cook trips. I'm glad you're still enjoying them as well. It would suck if you were just making these videos because you thought you had to. 😬 See you on the next one, Rod. Warm regards from Ontario, Canada. 🥰

Fantastic day Rod, thanks so much for sharing it with us. I can see how well you handle yourself while fishing/hunting alone, in what appear to be the most remote of places. I did notice the sailboat near you while spearing, but it looked quite desolate after that sequence. I truly enjoy watching your time spent making these videos, and I want to thank you for doing this. I’d just like to emphasize to all the viewers who want to get out there and do the same, that you, Rod, are very experienced with many years on and under the ocean, and that these activities come with the potential for extremely catastrophic consequences. I’m not trying to be dramatic, but all of us need to come home to our families, friends, pets and so on. With all that said, thanks again Rod for the most excellent content, stay safe and awesome my brother.
@Outerrythem2 жыл бұрын
The lack of fish on the reef, the lost lures + the public moorings are an indication that this is a very popular location. The only remote places left on the east coast of Australia are north of Cook Town and once the sealed road goes in, these won't be remote anymore either.

Love your videos. They are an incredibly calming influence and you personify the definition of a good person. Reason for my comment: I recently went to Hawaii on a vacation (I'm from NYC) and did a ton of snorkeling. I could hear the coral "talking" in that snap, crackle and pop way and smiled and thought of your videos. I asked my son if he heard it and I told him that the living coral doing its thing. No where near the beauty of the coral reefs by you but there are none in my hometown waters.

We eat sweetlip all the time, you need to bleed it straight away or the flesh can be a reddish colour. The "Painted Sweetlip" is a favorite fish where I live, Gut it Season the whole fish with salt- skin on, scales on. Wrap in alfoil and roast on the fire or bake in oven until cooked. Peel off the skin and a nice oily flesh is left, taste like roast mullet.

beautiful zone to fish and spear. Hope you have plans to come back to NZ with your family to visit again now that borders are fully open. This area looks so different to your home patch, and I presume it's a few hours' drive to get up to where the true coral begins? Also, I think it'd be interesting to hear from you about life as a KZbinr again, after you seemed a bit down on it maybe a year ago - the algorithm wasn't working for you and you were finding it a grind. Better now?
