Excellent tour! It sounds like you really know the instrument, this will be a video I will be visiting now that I bought one! :)

Juno1 is fantastic and so versatile. People are beginning to take notice as the more expensive ones are being hoarded by collectors. I have the Juno1 and it's paired with behringer BCR2000 controller, for complete knobby editing in a single page of the BCR. It's perfect!

Nostalgia for me, my first synth was a brand new Juno2, the 2 has the best keybed I have ever used, synth action with absolute beautiful control. 30 years later and dozens of synths, still not a keyboard as expressive and controllable as the Juno2. Since is was my first synth, I just assumed all keyboards performed like this one, but keyboard after keyboard disappointments for 30 years. My Yamaha P95 weighted piano has excellent control, but again, it is not synth action. I am very pleased with the Yamaha MX49 I just purchased, very controllable piano, but the through distance of the keys are very short. Thank you very much for the video!

This is such an amazing video. How juno alpha makes 106 redundant. SUPERB!!!!

Nice overview of the Alpha Juno. You were wondering about other synths that do PWM on sawtooth waves... check out the Akai AX-60. Fantastic PWM on all waveforms! Also, the Fender Rhodes Chroma Polaris has PWM on sawtooth waves as well. I believe the Rhodes Chroma does too.

Amazing work. I have it, but I got bored after years of having it, but I love the sounds of it, and the one line editor is not as terrible as they say. You just need to study the thing, and not being lazy. Thank you for this great explanation of such detailed sound design.

Great video dude, the MS2000 & microkorg have a modulatable pulse width on saw wave which continually blends between a saw and a double frequency saw.

Great Video - btw for Mentasm the Alpha Juno riff was sampled into a Casio FZ-1 sampler and the sampler's filter was used rather than the Juno's

I love the alphas. To me the filters are better than the 106. It's really wet and squelchy!

@@Zeal808 I was 14 in 1988 and had no idea what a powerful synth it was. KZbin want around to help me. I have up on it and bought something with 'better' presets and effects in the end - an Alesis Quadrasynth I believe.

AX60 has pulse width available on all waveforms including saw.
@nihilvoid41127 жыл бұрын
The Akai AX-60 has pulse width on all its waveforms. The AX60 is often compared to the Junos because of its similar architecture. One VCO (not DCO) with no sub osc, seperate pwm lfo, multi wave lfo, dual eg, vco filter c/o mod, keyboard split, midi. Look into em!

Please don't. Please keep the ax below people's radar. Let the moneyed people buy the Junos. Keep the ax's for poor artists.

I'd like to see the "pulse width modulated saw" on a scope, to see what's actually happening. The Microbrute has a modulatable waveshape for its saw, based on folding, which gives it sort of a "supersaw" character. I don't own an alpha Juno but I'd like to, because of its unique sound. I have a 106 - i would also say the Alpha is also unique among the vintage Junos for its dedicated PWM LFO, time/level envelope (what ever happened to those?) and ability to env-modulate pitch.

Hi, very nice tour. I get mine years ago on the second hand market. I'm doing some techno stuff with it and sounds very well. I have a little troubles with loading presets. Can you please do a tutorial on how to load patches please? That would be awesome! Thanks :)

voyager has modulatable variable waveshape, which can 'pwm' between triangle, saw and square. not sure if that's exactly the same as what the AJ would be doing with its saw pwm though. would be interesting to see on a scope
@michaelbauers88008 жыл бұрын
Prophet 12 has a shapable sawtooth, but not sure it "counts" because the oscillators are digital ( filters and envelopes are analog I think, but the oscillators are definitely digital.)
