Roland Boutique JP-08 JU-06 JX-03 epic ambient jam session (BURG - Komorebi)

So, what is better than playing one of the new Roland Boutique synths? Playing ALL three of them at the same time of course! Seriously, I have not had this much fun in ages.
I set up three independent patches, JX-03 with a slow attack fifth pad, the JU-06 with a slow PWM lead .. and finally the JP-08 with a complex sequence pattern.
I am adding a fair amount of delay and reverb on this patch, using two MS70s.
Well, not much else other to say than... play it loud and enjoy! :)

"As ever "? No. Good? To some yes, to others like me who have Junos, they don't sound the same, so good is debatable. I would be more inclined to choose the Korg Minilogue if I were buying right now. Those mini interfaces are just ridiculous.

+Patrick Gideon i have never been able to afford any of the original synths as i am from a really poor country and i was too young to even either consider asking my parents to pay astronomical amounts of money for the original synth. as being in love with the synth sounds of the 80's this boutique release from roland made me happier than a kid receiving his favorite candy. i have the Juno and even if i know it doesn't has the original's "balls" it does a pretty good job. i must recognize that the jp8 is the most "digitalist" from them all i really think they should have put more attention to it and i really need that "tone" button system 1 has that would have been a great addition. cheers.

+Patrick Gideon Well ive beem fortunate to have had many jupiters pass into my possession JP6 and 8 and i have to tell you with quality preamps and outboard i can get the same results, might take a bit more effot with the small format but believe me all the sounds are in there, how ? i don't have a clue but the mojo is 100% there, and i have never said that about digital gear before..

totally incredible sound. i bought the jx03 & jp08 to go with the rest of my analogue synths but haven't had a chance to use any of them. when the studio is up and running again these these two units will defo be used. best demo around. keep the ambience going ;¬)

i have an original JX-3P with the PG-200 in storage in LA because i'm afraid to fly around with it. problem solved! these sound killer! Roland nailed it. and no laptop needed. add a nice delay and verb, and MIDI keyboard, done deal. love it! nice playing too!

+BluffMunkey It's funny you say that. I had a play with them as well and walked away feeling very underwhelmed. I guess my desire to own the 'real thing' trumps these things. The throw on the faders being so small really annoyed me and the way patch memory was set up was absolutely bonkers for a new machine. I understand the desire to stay true to the originals, but they could have thrown in a better way to load patches.

+D r Jezz A CS80 is nothing compared to what is here.... I have a CS80 and a JX 3p and a slew of other analog bits, and I am getting 2 of the JX03 from this series... A CS80 is a performance synth... if you play, its simply amazing... its not always about the sound... sometimes its the responsivenes and immediacy... the CS is a complete universe
