That settles it for me. I've been thinking either a Cube street which in all fairness looks a little big for what I want, or one of those Yamaha THR amps. Thes sounds you demonstrated tonight sounded great. Thanks for a excellent video. 👍

Great review, Brother! We are downsizing to a trio (a singer, a guitar player (both electric and acoustic...me), and a percussionist...cajon, bongos, bells, snare,, etc.) and will be playing small outdoor events in my little fishing village, like BBQs and Parties ...and bar and restaurant patios along the Texas Gulf coast. I am older now and really look forward to getting rid of and to stop lugging around heavy equipment. This is Cube is very interesting and even smaller, more portable, and less expensive than the PA and array systems I have been looking at, and seems to lack in sound quality. This review has really helped me to see other options. Liked and subscribed...

Im back . I bought a new 414ce Taylor last week and it sounds incredible through this thing ! I also linked it to my old cube street with the 6 inch speakers through the line in on the vox channel and it works great ! You can link it to any powered unit and it will be the master . With it linked to my cube street you can still use the extra channel as you desire and control the separate volume and effects . The 2 of them really compliment each other . Im really stoked about this , as I can further spread my sound with them .

I have had tge the Cube Street Ex for two years now and I am 60% happy with it. One of the problems, and you exhibited here, is if you are using it live, and want to use the different settings for electric guitar, the volume jumps are extreme between the settings. Meaning you’ll be fiddling with the controls each time you change. I use outboard effects, well, I am using a Roland GR55 guitar synth, and happy with the synth tones and my OD and distortion tones. But cannot get a warm balanced jazz tone from from D’Angelico semi hollow body. I noticed yesterday whilevbusking, on the lower powered output setting, it sounded like a heavy limiter was in place..I’d get that ‘thwack’ sound if I picked a little too hard. I’m still going to mess with things and then decide if I shoukd get a Yamaha THR just for the guitar sounds from the GR55. Great video….👍👍👍

Hi, as it turns out I settled for a Boss duel LX, mainly because I liked the look of it's physical size and all I'm looking for is something to plug in my headphones into after my has gone to bed at night. I'm interested in what you mean by describing the "thwack" when you play a little too hard. You're not playing with dog ear P90s by any chance are you ? I recently picked up a Gibson Les Paul Junior with the single dog ear P90 and the bottom E string is so far spoiling what is a good guitar, it is one of the modern one's, 2019 I think. I'm currently adjusting the poles on the pick up to try and find a sweet spot. If you read this far, thanks. 👍
@Robt.Velasquez5 ай бұрын
@@opus1952 The ‘thwak’ I mention sounds like bad piezo pickup sound. I have Seymour Duncan’s on the guitar I busk with. I ended up with the Spark 40. It gives a more natural tone. I’m still working with to get the best gain staging but so far it’s very nice. I like its size which makes it great for busking. It too has a headphone jack but so does the Roland EX. Going to checkout Boss Dual LX.

@@opus1952 Looked at the Boss. Looks like a great home practice amp, but for about the same price the Spark 40, and the newer Spark 50 have 40 and 50 watts each which I need for outdoor performance. Plus you can set up presets with the app. Have fun!

As a street musician i can say that this amplifier is great 💯. I use a baritone guild guitar which produces a lot of low frequencies and it handles them really good. That being said the first month i got it, the right speaker 🔊 burned out, but i had the warranty on, so i send it back for repair and they told me that it was faulty anyways, so they replaced both speakers and everything seems to be fine since then, and I'm really using it as I'm a singer as well which means i use both voice and guitar and yes at some point if you raise the volume too high it gets harsh, but if you keep the volume half way max it's great and you don't really need more than that as it's very very loud trust me. Even the half of what it can do is way too much and you don't need it apart from some very rare occasions with a lot of people or noise around you when you're performing in big city or a central square were you can come across some really bad situations in terms of noise and all.
@davidmurphey9514 Жыл бұрын
I completely concur. You probably run at maximum watts like I have. I have a power cord but primarily run on batteries. If you gig over 4 hours without turning it off its good to keep an extra set handy. I prefer this to the loud box mini. It's clean and clear. Plus the digital reverb is an excellent enhancement. Thanks for your comment. Enjoy. Thanks for watching.

@@davidmurphey9514 Hey friend, we thank you for your presentations. You mentioned the loudbox mini?? The Fishman?? I have it as well 🤣, it's an excellent amplifier but not for noisy situations like cube because it has only one speaker which is it's only downside, but yes different amplifiers, different types of use and don't forget that the Fishman is also a monitor not only an amplifier like Fishman is. The Fishman produces more natural sound unlike cube who does the job well no matter where you are at.

Have one and have been trying to listen to comparison of other busking amps. No one used an electric and acoustic and also sings with them which has left me kind of puzzled ha. I think this amps a keeper. That lead channel with the volumes dialed down is a great blues sound, especially at lower watts for dirt or higher for head room. This thing gets super loud! It has a footing with my tube amp!

Hello David I’m still pondering the idea of buying the Roland Street Cube. I did buy two of the Bose S1-Pro speakers for my portable PA and they are fantastic! Is the Cube EX loud enough to play with a full drum set live? The speakers inside the Cube EX only say 15-watts per speaker. Please advise from your own perspective and personal experience because you already own one and have used periodically.

Hi! Some people tell that the amp simulation is not enough...do you think that this amp will be a better choice than bose s1 or JBL eon one vs line6 pocket pod? Greetings!
@davidmurphey95143 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question and for watching. I don't believe it's better than the Bose S1 or the JBL. They aren't in the same league in my opinion. The Bose and JBL are capable of pushing handling larger venues. If you need to reach a large audience either of those would be great. However for just making one trip from the car to the venue. The Roland is my choice for small venues of 100 people or less. Great Busking amp. I have had absolutely terrible results with Line 6 products. I haven't had any experience with this particular Product. So Honestly can't say.
@Chris-cf2kp3 жыл бұрын
I'd like to add, as someone with this and a tube amp. This Cube amp is meant for buskers and performers of any electric instrument and I can dial it close to my tube amp- those that you mentioned focus on acoustic guitars and general PA uses only but this cube is catered to electric and acoustic guitar and has some roll off in the higher frequency which those two don't have, while still having tweeters for general PA use. This one also has a third line level input for a keyboard or bass guitar which can all be broadcast at once. This is a great amp for busking and it has a better stereo width to my ears than the bose at high volume and is also louder. Don't know about the JBL though.
