Holey crap, this machine is all i ever dreamed of!!! I was just about to ask you how i can set up my band set list sounds per cover song.... And then i found this video. Man this board seems so user friendly. I am totally in love with it. Owned a Fantom S for 20 years, and a CASIO C-TX3000: recording was a super slow process. And the casio UI a nightmare! Haha The 06, with the touch screen and improved workflow. LOVE. IT. Love your video's man. Will watch m all! :)))

It would help if you mentioned what exactly you press each time, I follow the video on my Fantom O but often miss what you pressed to get to the next screen etc and have to keep trying to find it in the reference manual or by trial and error. I wasted time when doing Group 10 trying to work out why I was playing a drumkit with my selected zones. It was because Zone 10 was On!! Also to get into the right screen it was Pad Mode - Edit - Enter. I had to refer to the manual for that....😗

Man, i also didn't see he was pressing Edit there..... He should have mentioned it! Thanks for your help! Saved me a trip to the manual. :)

Hi, I admit, being a guitar player I'm a caveman with keyboards, I have an RD-300SX and don't readily know how to split/dual/transpose etc on that!! I'm used to a pickup switch, volume and tone, so the Fantom O is a world of mystery to my limited brain🤣 but it's a wonderful machine, I adore the T.W.O. Hammond sounds especially. The Switch Groups are fantastic, though I have to revisit the video every time I want a new one!! I've also learned why keysmen frown at guitarists a lot!!🤣@@Marbles35

Hi Ed, Thanks for these videos. Is there a view in which we can see which zones are getting turned on/off on the screen when the pad is pressed? It would be great to see what sounds are assigned when we select a pad/scene. Also, In in the zone view, is it possible to turn on/off each zone from the screen itself? If it had an overview mode where it would only show the sounds instead of showing all details like level, eq, splits etc... So this view would just allow us to turn on/off in one screen itself. Another feature request is, would it be possible to bring vocal harmony to the mic input with an OS update?

Great tutorial. Can you switch to the next pad in Switch Group Mode with a Control Pedal? (As in Scene mode but with the pads switch groups so that the sound does not cut off or take time to load) If possible with an update or in some way let me know. It would be ideal for live performance :)

Will scene remain work with keyboard switch groups (as long as there are not more than 8 tones in a scene)?
@psalms65392 жыл бұрын
Hey Ed, (is that common greeting, LOL, very coolio). Anywho, if i setup a switch group can i still use a pad or two to trigger sounds or once in switch group, all pads are assigned to the switch group function. Thanks.

Is this fiture (switch group) also exist in another brand?like Modx, Krome, Nautilus,?
@davebassP52 жыл бұрын
This is really cool. Im getting a 06 soon, and have a MODX already. One thing i cant find out, is can you have different volume levels for different sounds, like you can in the MODX? For example piano on its own under pad one, then piano and strings on pad 2, but with the piano a bit louder than on pad 1?
@MuhammadIqbal-by4gl2 жыл бұрын
So easy to do that, in Roland workstations

No polyphony cut off? If you use sustain pedal?
@Phant0mK162 жыл бұрын
Not between the zones in a scene. However, if you change scenes it will cut
@Phant0mK162 жыл бұрын
You can change it with an option called "Scene Remain" but it will limit your scenes to 8 zones instead of 16

Can you usean external pedal to switch between Pads? After a key group? Like a scene chain but one that doesn't cut off sounds when you change the scene.

I think this is very wrong idea We have no layers spilt option there
@petara45 Жыл бұрын
Why on earth would this be a wrong idea??? This is a great use of the pads and you obviously didn't watch the video because there ARE layers. Split options are defined for each tone individually. If you set tone 1 from C1 to C4, and tone 2 from C#4 to C8, and set both tones to be active for the group 1 which is triggered by the pad 1, there you have your split.

@@petara45 what about volumes? if you want the piano at 100 and the strings at 50 volume?
@petara45 Жыл бұрын
@@williamshaneblyth I don't own the Fantom-0 but every multitimbral keyboard produced in the last 35 years is capable to set volume separately for every part. It is described somewhere in the manual. It can certainly be done on the Fantom. Otherwise, the multitimbrality and the keyboard itself would be completely useless.
@williamshaneblyth Жыл бұрын
@@petara45 my point was it wasn't mentioned or shown where it is set. Not about the keyboard but more about completely missed out of the video and not obvious at all from the screens shown. I don't own one yet and like to see how and the basics are implemented if it's not even mentioned I assume nothing. I can't play one cause I where I live remotely so these type of videos are important the modx videos show all this stuff in depth.
@petara45 Жыл бұрын
@@williamshaneblyth Look, this is a short video about creating switch groups. It is not a substitution for the manuals. And Ed says clearly he will show you how to "create switch groups for zones inside a scene". So, it is your job to download the manual, take a look what a zone is and what a scene is. Different terms for the same thing as you have on the MoDX (Performance and Part). You can create a scene with up to 16 zones, each zone has a sound you select, and you set the volume and the keyrange for each individual zone. That means that zones can even overlap, have the same volume, or be split with different volumes. These things are standard for over 35 years on keyboards. Once you have your Scene created in a way you want, you save it. And this video tells you how to turn zones inside your scene on and off with the pads. Creating scenes is not part of this video, but it is explained in the manual. Otherwise, each of these videos would be 20 minutes long and contain needless information most people are familiar with. Editi: here I found a video which explains in depth the basics of how to create splits, layers and so on. One just have to search a littlebit more. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y2q9eWmld6moo6M
