I have NO idea how to change the BPM on the J-6… 1. It doesn’t show on the screen, the Manuel says it shows at all times… I also did what the Manuel said “how shift and move knob”..nothing happens…do I have to be in a certain mode to do it? Also for NO reason I can not get the arp to work, if I push the “on”? Button.. all sound stops, and no tweaking of the two knobs changes anything… is my unit defective or is there something I’m missing?

Yes the roland j6 chords was delivered today. He is dope I'm only annoyed by the battery that's been bagged. Fits well in my korg volca setup. Unfortunately it is difficult to get the roland 404 mk 2 here in germany, At least the latest version. The roland j6 chords very well. My setup is korg volca mix, korg volca sample 2 and korg volca bass. If something good comes out, i sample it on the mpc and do interpolarization.

What is the bass like on the J6? Would it be capable of making synth style basslines or is the T8 more for that? I imagine the T8 would be more old school 303 basslines?

Two questions: On the sp 404 once you record you can't edit the sequences, just delete them I guess?. On the j-6 Can you create your custom chord banks too (associated with a specific preset)?

The SP404 pattern record mode kind of works like an overdub workflow. You can edit sequences but only by dubbing over - so if you want to remove a track (or parts of a track), it's a case of holding down a button while that track is playing. It takes some getting used to but it's OK. But yeah you can't edit individual notes/steps like on a MPC

You can use TRS 3.5mm cable beteen SPMK2 and J-6. If you need to connect to 5-Pin MIDI, all Roland uses "TYPE-A" TRS MIDI, so you can use a BMIDI cable from BOSS.

If you're using two of the same adapter with a midi cable b/t, can't you just run a 3.5mm TRS cable instead? Esp b/t two pieces of Roland gear. That's how all the aira's interface b/t each other without usb or midi cables. New viewer, loving the content so far!

Hi Ave I just received my J-6 yesterday and even after looking through the manual I'm not quite sure how you are getting the sounds from the J-6 into the SP? Is that the 3.5mm going into the SP via 1/4 inch stereo cable? I thought it might be possible just using USB C to USB C but yeah that doesn't seem to work and the TSR to TSR for midi is working. Any help in this would be appreciated!

Do you feel like the variations on the j6 are similar to the styles on the verselab? I'm only interested in the t8 for the acid capabilities. The chords and such seem cool on the j6 as a controller but I don't know about such a small brain
