Too many distractions for kids watching fishing content nowadays. It was so much better back then IMO as a kid. They do way too much vloging and not enough fishing and dad jokes, lol.

It’s ruined a ton of great spots in my local area being broadcasted to millions of people. I haven’t touched my freshwater rods in over 5 years. Striper fishing where I live in Nj is one of the best spots in the country to catch 40-60lbers in the spring time. I don’t have it in me to take a whole day to catch a few teeny tiny large mouth bass that are overfished by everyone just to throw it back and say it’s for sport. I do it so I can eat for free.

Gotta love ol Roland! Hes gettin around great for being in his 80's, and his mind is sharp as it can be. I was talkin to Rick Pierce (Bass Cat owner) as we were gettin our trucks serviced in town the other day, and he was sayin Roland is as spry as he can be! He used to come here to Bull Shoals to fish and turkey hunt every spring. I dont know if he came this year, I kinda doubt it, his buddy past away after being sick for quite awhile. But that was a spring tradition for Roland for decades.

lunkers messed this video up so bad!!! when youre on a boat by yourself with THE Roland Martin, you shut up, or ask questions that everyone wants to hear him answer, and were 10 minutes in and im about to punch the wall because ive heard nothing but your voice!! you arent 1/100,000,000th on the same level as him, braggin about buying land and money stuff.. everything he could careless about talking about.. as you can tell by the famous roland martin mmhmmm and quiet response. but when hes interested in the convo, hes sooo super excited about every single word and its contagious! fumbled the bag here bud! fumbled the absolute mfing bag!!

Seeing the boat not get unhooked at first made me laugh hysterically. I was putting my boat in one day and couldn’t figure out why the damn trailer kept floating on the back and then I had a moment and realize it was still strapped onto the trailer back. It took me a few tries to figure that one out, I am sure it was fun fishing with Roland and unforgettable moment. I’m sure.

I remember watxhing Roland Martin and Orlando Wilson, Bill Dance and the Bassmasters on Sundays with my dad. Such great memories. We saltwater fished and did vew bass fishing trips. Mainly we caught bluegill and sunfish for bait and never had any success in tne lakes we fished. My dad coukd get them on lures, worms, amd spinner baita. My dad uses to catch speckled trout with a spinmer bait. People started using a lure behind a float and pop, but we used Mirrrolures and zometime Loves lures amd sometimes freshwater ztuff and it worked for reds, snook and trout, we got a grand slam a few times.
