Hey Ed... Can I hit shift and squeeze with the RD 700gx? If not, how do I assign a foot switch to go up a patch with that keyboard?

Hello Ed Diaz! Thank you for this short instructional video! I've got a question there: As I like to switch programs somtimes within a song, the sound shouldn't break up when changing. I thought I could hold the previous sound with the sustain pedal then change sound and directly start playing the new sound. This worked with the E-Piano, Organs and so on, but not with the Piano section (exp. Stage Grand, Concert Grand, Upright Piano). With the pianos it seems as if the RD2000 doesn't recognizes the sustain pedal still being pushed down... Can you help me?

Hi.. Can I use Boss FV-30L to have similar function to EV-5 in RD2000? Where it can be assigned to spesific layer and function.. Can you explain how the cable is connected? (In what hole at Boss FV-30L and in RD2000?)

Great video, thanks. One question: Can I press the pedal instead of the transpose button to transpose the whole keyboard from C to D?

Thanks Ed, I just got my RD-2000 and I have learned more than I ever expected by listening to your great videos! Just a quick question...what is the best choice for a foot switch to trigger patch changes in MainStage and/or on the RD-2000? I tried using a DP-1 and it seems to increment more than one patch at a time unless I use an extremely fast tap on and off. Thanks JC

Hi, I've bought BOSS EV-30 that gonna be used in my Roland RD2000. But I was unable to connect or might I don't understand how to setup the EV-30 in RD2000 correctly. What I have done is: 1. Connect cable from BOSS EV-30 to PEDAL EXT input. RD2000 2. In RD2000, in the MENU - PEDAL setting, I selected Rotary, but not success (nothing happened) 3. I moved the cable to PEDAL FC1 / FC2, but it's the same, the EV-30 Pedal still doesn't work. Hopefully there's still a chance to me to use BOSS EV-30 in my RD2000.

Plugged in the pedal in the dampener slot held in the shift button then pressed the pedal and nothing happens. What now?

You can do the same for RD-800

Help anyone please. I have a an Rd 700. What i want to achieve is use a pedal to control volume on a second layer (1st layer piano/2nd layer strings). The rd 700 has fc1 and fc2 and damper sockets. Pls direct me to the correct place please. Im lost 😊

No matter what I do the pedals have no effect on the sound. They do come up with the shift function but that's about all it does

IMHO this is the massive achilles heel of this otherwise wonderful instrument. There is no option to set my own default settings for pedals. Only a 'Remain' setting that keeps an arbitrary factory default. Means I have to create my own 'Programs' save them and then create a 'Scene' just to have a Leslie speed control on a footswitch, and access through the tone switches which pretty much renders those tone buttons on the front panel useless unless I go through that procedure that you just explained every single time I power up the machine. Bad Design. Sorry but there it is. I really hope somene from Roland will realise how frustrating this is and do something about it in a future update.

Andrew Hodge Why would you have to create a scene to make your adjustments effective? IIRC the assignments are stored within each program. I have another problem: for a split organ, the rotary switch (lever, mod wheel or footswitch) only works for the active/hilighted zone, i.e. one at a time. This is really nasty.

octopus34, You have to create the 'scene' in order to be able to recall your program using the tone buttons on the front panel. The point I was trying to make was that if you wish to use the tone buttons to select something other than factory defaults, it is a two stage process and that is very counter-intuitive. I want to use those buttons because in a live context they are much easier to find than scrolling through programs on the pathetically small screen Have you tried finding a specific program on that tiny screen when playing live on a brightly lit stage? It's very difficult, unless you have very sharp eyesight. I have the same problem as you when trying to create a dual manual tone wheel organ. Why won't the pedal control both zones? This is, again, very hard to understand and again, harder still to use in a live context. Seems that Roland have not fully explored the realities of using this machine in a live context.

Also, slightly out of context, why can I not have a separate reverb send level for each zone? that's just lazy!
@andrewhodge17026 жыл бұрын
Just to qualify that; I am referring to the controller knobs for the reverb, not the zone edit on the screen.
