Love your review. This is exactly what I need to complement my acoustic drums set and I can go back to disco fever era from the 80-ties :PPP

I thought the "variation" let you have alternating samples for playing soft/hard. Maybe it does both

What could I connect this to if I'm playing a small bar gig? An amp?
@RICHARDSANDSTROM
@RICHARDSANDSTROM 5 жыл бұрын
Steve You could for example connect it to a mixer that goes to the PA and a monitor (for your listening). It really depends on the size of the venue. If It’s a very small bar gig, you might even get by with connecting it directly to a monitor, that could work both as a monitor for you, as well as the PA for the crowd. An example of that would be the Bose system.

It looks as though you have the Roland pad mounted on its own stand - completely separate from any other stands or gear. Is that correct? (And I assume you are doing that to prevent "false triggering" of the pad.)
@RICHARDSANDSTROM
@RICHARDSANDSTROM 3 жыл бұрын
That’s correct - it’s on a separate stand here. It certainly makes the false triggering aspect easier, but the main reason was that it made for a more flexible set-up (easy to set it up exactly where I wanted it).

@@RICHARDSANDSTROM thanks, that's very helpful and good to know. Thankfully I already have a few spare stands. ;-) Your demo was very helpful and I found it better than the official one provided by Roland. Just curious, are you Swedish? Cheers.

@@RICHARDSANDSTROM cool! I live in the Dallas, Texas, USA area. I used to work from Ericsson from 1990-1993. I worked w/ several Swedish guys there. They were all quite nice people. HMU on FB if you'd like. Cheers.

What is the proper way to connect this to a mixer? Direct Box?
@RICHARDSANDSTROM
@RICHARDSANDSTROM 5 жыл бұрын
Mark J I would def. connect it through a DI-box. That’s actually what I do when using it live.

@@RICHARDSANDSTROM The Roland MC 303 is more of a sequencer. But the drum sounds are very similar to this pad :)

Some of the sounds are just far too comical to use or to quiet(shaker).id probably only use about 4/5.
