I'm hoping to get a nice synth in the next year or so and Ive been going back and forth between the System 8 and the Rev2, but I'm starting to lean towards the system 8. Sounds awesome btw!
@neonpulse13312 жыл бұрын
Hey Colin, I am thinking of getting a Rev2 for my Big Birthday this year, but am also very pleased with my first Synth (monologue XD). The system 8 is awesome, and I have no hangups about the analogue Vs digital debate. The system 8 is awesome for those 80's / 90's Roland Sounds. A very great and capable synth.
@lucasleroy31962 жыл бұрын
I had both and they’re both great, go for the system 8 (I sold it bc I needed money and while I bought the rev2 brand new the system 8 was second hand so it’s the one I sold). Hopefully I can buy one again soon :)
@neonpulse13312 жыл бұрын
Sorry for not replying sooner. If you love 80's music, buy the Sys 8! It is awesome an synth and will not let you down! Ironically, I bought the Novation Summit instead of the Rev2 after reading many reviews. I would love an iconic synth such as a Prophet in my collection. After sending the Novation Summit back 2 times, and ultimately keeping it, I do not regret my decision. However, if your love 80's, while the summit is a flag ship synth that is capable of way more, the Sys 8 just can just deliver those sounds! Sys 8, you will not regret it.

Giving the melody space… nice! Screams for the pad to be along 2nd time around just a little sequencing for bass so u can do the pad ? It’s always fun to see people do their synth stuff but this actually is a nice song too. Well done sir. Subbed.
@neonpulse13312 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the kind words and advice. I will have a play around with the Bass and Pads. I've done something similar with another track, sequenced a nice monopoly bass on the Hydrasynth for a synthwave sound. I just can't finish the 80's style melody on the System 8. The main tune is there, it just needs other sections.

Until yesterday I had never had the opportunity to play the JDXA, and I only had seconds to try it. I would love them both but I think I would stick with the System 8 for the 80's synth sounds. Mind, those Super Natural string sounds on the JDXA do sound nice.

it is the default patch on the performance bank (1-1 yellow lights, 'Fat Split'). I believe it is made up of D7 (BS DF Bass and A-3 (PL Synth Edge).

Roland System 8 and you can 't tell me you can play it offline without any connection of programs and laptops , just took the amplifiers speakers and plugged in and play ! is it possible ?
@annother33502 жыл бұрын
Yes, once the plug-outs are loaded, no internet connection or laptops needed. You only need it if you buy new synth plug-outs and transfer them to this keyboard. I think you can choose any 3 of the Roland Plugout synths in the machine at once

Man, now you have hit a nerve! I bought this keyboard as an interim after sending back a Waldorf Blofeld (Amazing, but damaged second hand) and buying my Yamaha Modx (Love). What a capable keyboard the BS2 is. However, it has had to grow on me! I have forced myself to love the bass sounds (checkout my most recent post, even though I now own the might Summit!).

@@neonpulse1331 I like to nearly always play with my left hand an analog bass. These days when I split my keyboard as you are here I midi a minatur on the left for bass and a hyra in the right on an arturia 61 remote .I've gone all rack now . Saves room. I also now have a Kyra and an integra7 arp 2600 b. And a Waldorf vocoder all thru a mpc1 Compact and I can take it all out if I do a gig. Keep on playing with 2 hands It's great to see! Good tune.
