Thanks for explaining the exact route through the overdrive setting menu because Roland's own manual only tells you how to navigate to that section and then you are left to work the rest out for yourself. I don't know if the adoption of 4 x 7-segment displays was partly to make the units look as retro as the original instruments they emulate, but IMO a dot-matrix OLED display would have fitted into the same area and made the menus much, much more intuitive to navigate. I'm finding that every time I want to know how to do a specific thing, specifically, I have to come online and have someone tell me how to do it. Thanks for the very useful video, I'll have to go back and watch part 1 now.

@@Tuulacult maybe you could already help me with the little issue i have? that would be very nice - so i clock the t8 with the arturia keystep pro (arturia master - trs cable from clock out to synch in in the t8), the t8 is getting a signal but while the arturia is set to 130 bpm, the t8 is playing extremly fast bpm maybe 300, if i go to 30 bpm in the arturia, its lowering the bpm in the t8. any idea? thanks in advance

You need to match the clock speed on both devices. To do that open the menu on T8 ("SHIFT" and "OCT+") and navigate to the "S.cLY" option this option is right after the sidechain settings. And set the value to "4" - this value works with my Keystep 32. If T8 clock is still faster or slower try different values, one of them will work. Let me know if it helped!

@@Tuulacult hey thanks a lot for the replay, it somehow still doesn't match it seem like the t8 is getting the signal a few seconds later , if i change the value it change the BPM completely, 4 is indeed the closest but still not exactly. I also tried all the parameters under sync in the utility of the keystep but no luck. Can it be the cable i use to send clock from the arturia to the t8? I used a trs normal cable that i use to patch my modular - maybe i should get a proper 3.5m?

The cable could be the problem (weird glitches are typical) - Roland states in the mono 3.5mm jack (your trs) should be used for the sync clock, however, I'm using a stereo 3.5mm jack cable for syncing my T8 and it works just fine. Unfortunately, I don't have any mono cables to try it out with them. The cable you are using also can be broken. Try these two things: - Open the menu on T8 and navigate to the "SYnC" option, make sure if set to auto (if you plug in jack to sync in and the BPM value on the display changes to "---.-" this part works fine. - In the menu, open "tHPc" and "rHPc", and set both options to off. This disables receiving a transmitting program change MIDI signal. If this doesn't work, I would consider trying a different cable (your modular patch cable), And if it still doesn't solve your problem, buy stereo 3.5mm jack.
