Dennis Rivenburg To me, my TD11 is all i need. I can practice at any time, it's easy to record, sounds great for demos, and it's just as good as I need to. Plus the fact that I love it for what it is. I don't compare it to a acoustic drum becouse they are just not the same. If I want the features acoustic drums and cymbals have , I go acoustic.

Thanks, great video! I just wish Roland could group drum sets together or allow me to do it. I understand that the TD-50 has a set list that allows you to move from drum set to set, but I don't know hows strict it is? I have a TD-12KV and will be upgrading shortly. It's just frustrating when you have to run past space drums, cartoon drums, to get to another normal set. Then you have to go through Indian Drums, percussion drums, finger popping drums and drums that clearly don't play well together, to the next good one. It gets frustrating. This was very helpful.

You can create your own kits from any individual pieces you like, then save them as presets even name then for the song or band you are going for, then order them to fit your gig Playlist . So no scrolling between random kits.

How much better are the sounds from the TD-20 and 30? I didn't see any 80's sounds or ways to process the stock voices. Also it seems there are only 400 or so on the brain, vs nearly 1000 on the 20 and 30. Talk to me goose. Great chops by the way!
@robertlucas98677 жыл бұрын
dantheman9856 I’ve played Td20 for about a decade and my friend has the TD30 so we did a side by side comparison and I disagree that the the 30 is superior. It’s the same sounds with added features. I use the studio and Maple kit a lot and compared them both. No different. My friend uses the rock kit and he says the same, no difference. The toms have a very short unnatural decay. The TD50 has a Bubinga kit for example and it sounds nothing like a Tama Bubinga kit. Plus if you sample a snare into it, it is only one shot (usually you have to a medium-loud hit). The brain uses digital software to make it low or loud so that’s why the ghost notes don’t sound right because it is just the same medium-loud hit sample made low volume. Not realistic. Many snares have a different tone to them soft and even when hit hard. Same with toms. The only advancement I like is the digital snare and ride but the sounds are not good. I’ve been reading many drum blogs people are unhappy with the sounds.

Great playing. I've said for many years that the biggest problem - with electronic drums of any kind - is that they're programmed / played by keyboard players. Yes, the tech has improved enormously but sit me (a keyboard player) behind that kit and it's going to be ghastly. As it would be if you sat me behind an acoustic kit. The saving grace with an electronic kit is that you could turn me down :)

@drumtecTV6 жыл бұрын
Hey Maximus, well actually the setup of diabolo series & Roland TD-50DP definately is a high end electronic drum kit :) it doesn´t get much better than this, you can later on switch to the bigger drum-tec pro series if desired & as a matter of taste use other sound options (Pearl Mimic Pro, Superior Drummer through midi). But feeling/playing wise this kit is state of the art and definately not a "beginner " kit as such ;) that would rather be a drum-tec Jam series with Roland TD-17 to cut down the price. Kind regards!

@graviton92827 жыл бұрын
Rory McCallion I agree. Reason being is that my TD-50 sounds so good in person. That is to say they don't sound like they sometimes come across in some videos. Depending greatly on your monitoring system.
@Len_M.7 жыл бұрын
David Kerr Never judge anything sound wise in a video, you need to go hear it in person. That goes for anything from Electronic Drums, to Monitors, whatever. The pair of Headphones you choose is even going to change the way this set sounds when playing.
@robertlucas98677 жыл бұрын
David Kerr I’ve played them in store. Sound just as horrible. The Bubinga kit doesn’t sound like Tama kit. The decay is still too short on the toms especially the Bubinga kit. The rims on toms are very similar on all kits. They still use to much digital editing and digital effects based from a decade ago.

Coming here in July 2021...why does this sound better than the 50x?? Yes, it has fewer sounds like snare but for what you get, its quality over quantity(like the ATV aD5). Even the hi hat sounds 10x better (for Roland lol). I guess thats why I see used 50 kits selling so high. Does Drum-tec have original 50 modules left in stock? Not upgrades or 50x, the original. I may be in the minority but I like the original 50 better.
