Roland TD50X, 5 custom kits

Drum nerd alert! Here are 5 custom kit examples I built in the new Roland TD50X upgrade based on the internal sounds and mixing/editing features.
The module holds 100 different kits, and so far I've built 10 kits…I’ll be busy for a while. 😀
This thing is a BEAST! Roland has raised the bar yet again!!🎧🥁

The 50X is a great module... I can't wait for the VH14D, but I've found that even my VH12 is triggering more reliably than it did with my TDW20. Enjoy!

I have a New Roland kit VAD 706. The TD50 X sound module and the VH14D is very nice. I'd love that, the sensation is pretty good compare to an acoustic drum kit

Nice! The 706’s are beauties! Make sure you download the extra kits downloadable from Roland’s site. Some of them are fantastic! I also use Vexpression sound packs and then mix man’s match kits or various parts of kits to help make my own kits. You’ll also learn a lot about how to do your own sound modeling by looking at the settings in each of the various kits.

How well do those pd7s above your aux snare trigger?

Given how old they are, surprisingly well! They came with my original TD10 kit I bought around 1996. They're a bit hard...there are better rubber pads available today. I have a pair of PD7's and PD9's. They're 2-zone.

These are 5 kits I tweaked on my own. I used 5 'base' kits from the 50X and then I edited the sounds and effects to how I want them to sound. Sorry, I don't recall which 5 kits I began with. There are a number of really good base kits. Using those, I tweak all the individual settings.

@@dennisagresti9367 Thank you for reply. I wanted to make a backup of your presets and put them on my td50. Can't I get it by email? I don't know how to make individual adjustments. So I want to refer to the sound a lot. I know the default preset is fine too. However, it seems that it is a little lacking, so it seems that individual adjustment is necessary. So you made adjustments too?

@@paparaphatv The kit settings can’t be emailed. There are too many settings for me to write them all out. I suggest you watch this video from Roland. Roland released this video shortly after the 50 came out. While the X is different, many of these setting tips still apply. This video helped me learn how to program my module. @@paparaphatv Not sure if you know, but you can also buy preconfigured kits from Vexpression, Drum-Tec and the eDrum Workshop. None of my kits came from them, but I’ve bought kit packs in the past. They’re very good
