@UnitE808 Жыл бұрын
A kit is made up of 11 tracks. You can put 1 sample or preset sound on each track. They can be one shots or loops. The 8S does not time-stretch, so your loops will need to natively be at the tempo of your pattern. It's not possible to load different sounds on a track within the same kit. You can use multiple patterns with similar kits to achieve what you want, but it uses up additional patterns and kits.

@UnitE8082 жыл бұрын
@@kroomenproductions4757 why would you do that? It is completely unnecessary to load 32gb of samples at once. You can preview samples from the card, saving room on the machine. Just import what you are going to use in the kit you are building. Importing a ton of samples requires you to scroll through them all individually to find what you want. On the card, they can be organized into folders. Also, if you fill the machine and then want to add more, you have to go through the painful process of deleting files from the 8S. It doenst tell you which files are being used, so you could delete ones thatcare used in your kits. It has 500mb of storage. It is made for 1 shot drum hits or melodic stabs. The info is out there in groups and forums. Research your gear before purchasing, don't just go off of advertising. They can't say exactly how many samples it holds because bit rate and sample rate and sample length are all factors in how much space a sample takes up. Their manual states you can have approx. 300 seconds of stereo samples, 600 mono. That number is based off of 16 bit 44k samples.

Yes, those are stereo high bit rate samples. They take more room. I use 16 bit mono samples. I also don't load a bunch of samples at once because of the pain it is to delete samples. You can load samples as a folder when importing. The best way to swap samples instantly is to create different kits with the samples you want to swap. I suggest keeping those kits in numerical order to make swapping easier. Then it’s a matter of changing kits while the pattern is playing.

For example, is it for you to select a different sample from the trap kit folder you had in there. It looks like the Roland only loads 1 folder at a time. Please elaborate.

Ir doesnt matter. The folders are only for you reference. You're not locked into using a specific folder for a specific kit. You are free to choose which sample you want to use.

How to save new samples in a kit so I can keep my sounds organized ? New video?
@UnitE8086 жыл бұрын
I made a video on building your own kit. You only get a limited number of kits. Using up a bunch just for the purpose of listening to them doesn't make sense to me. If you import 100 samples, then go through all the work of putting them one by one into kits, you are going to use up 10 kits.
@H4NDCRAFTED3 жыл бұрын
In the Tr6s manual it says if you edit a sample , it will reflect those edits in all kits that use that sample , is that correct ? Also , when you back up a kit , does it back up any user samples that the kit contains ?
@UnitE8083 жыл бұрын
Yes, all kits that use that sample will be affected. Backing up or exporting a kit will save the sample too.

@UnitE8086 жыл бұрын
Velvet Son do you have an SD card in the TR-8S? You need to make sure there is one in there and it has been formatted on the TR-8S.
@UnitE8086 жыл бұрын
Velvet Son if you hold shift and turn the power on to the tr8s while it's connected via USB, it will go in update mode and you won't see any folders. If the machine is on and you hold shift while connecting the USB, it puts it in storage mode, as long as you're in firmware version 1.03 or higher. In storage mode, it will show you folders. You must absolutely make sure that the SD card is formatted on the TR-8S,not on the computer.

The TR-8S holds up to 600 seconds mono/300 seconds stereo 44.1khz 16 bit. It does not timestretch imported samples, so you have to import at the tempo of your pattern.

Thanks for the great vids! But how many samples can you import into internal memory (not on SD card). How much space in terms of MB\GB is available internally? How much total sample time\length is there? Thanks!
@UnitE8086 жыл бұрын
Mike Larson 180 seconds at 44.1 kHz/mono. Maximum of 400 samples total can be imported. Upping the kHz or using stereo samples will shorten the amount of time available.

Hi. Did you format the sd card on the TR-8S? Also. Some users have been experiencing this problem and had to re-save the file first. What program are you using to make your samples?
@robert.melter6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your reply so far. Yes I did format the SD Card via the TR8S. I make my samples with FL Studio. I make music since 11 years now with FL Studio and I think I know how to make them. I can test it with Audacity or something, that's an idea, maybe it helps. Don't know what you mean with re-saving. I work on that problem, hope I can fix it. Thx so far!
@UnitE8086 жыл бұрын
@@robert.melter by re-save I mean to take your created sample and open it in Audacity. Then, export the sample out of Audacity as a wav or aiff. Some users found that a sample they created with other hardware has issues importing until they saved the sample in another program or audio converter.
