hardware is way better than some kind of plugin.. even though the sound is basically the same but i heard some slight difference! its like the hardware patches sound more fuller and have longer sounds and effects are spot on.

yeah, you can add that with 1 or 2 effects . Saves you a bunch.

I want one because I hate subscription services and always having to upgrade my plugins when I get around to upgrading my OS or get a new PC. I also don't like latency.

Just get the roland bundle torrent lol

Ben, I think you will like sampling. I have an Emu rack sampler Ultra 6400 and I feel it's more rewarding sampling your synths. It too comes out different, don't multi sample. Just sample one and play it across the keyboard (looped of course🔖)

Useful video. If anything this shows you should buy the Roland Cloud versions.

Yes. Gives you the best part of that sound. Just have to deal with the software and possible down falls that just go with software in general.

I have Zenology Pro (not the Lite version show here) and you can get really deep in the edit page. The included Preset E bank the XV collection has 896 presets from the XV 5080. They sound pretty good, but you can get down to the PCM waves and filters and effects. I was very much so considering buying the XV 5080 VST, but checked my Zenology plugin just to see if it had some of the ones I was looking for and it really had basically everything.
@park1716 ай бұрын
Zen pro and the XV plug in offer the same stuff, the XV 5080 was an earlier plugin when the Roland cloud first came out. The more modern interface of the zen sort of takes away visually. I wonder if Roland will discontinue the XV plugin. I noticed they finally discontinued the “highly sampled” vst series versions of their legacy. It a shame because one of thors was the actual JD990 sample set.

@@park171 Yeah, I mean I wish I could buy the Galaxias plugin they are doing subscription only too though. I was subscribed to the Zenology Core after trying the Lite, then decided to go ahead and buy the perpetual license for the pro version while keeping my core subscription because you get access to all the packs that are available, but Galaxias looks amazing. I wish I could get more of the SRX stuff too in Zenology honestly. There's so many great sounds from Roland and having them available without hardware is a dream.

I have the Xv-5080 lifetime license but find it unusable for live performance. If I don’t hook my laptop to the internet frequently, it starts cutting out and making random noises presumably because it needs to validate the license periodically. This has led to some embarrassing live performances. If it gave a warning that license needs to be validated, then maybe I could live with it.

Hi Ben. I own the XV5050. Would you say that the XV5050 is an EXACT "XV5080" soundwise?

Ben, very good video, until it I never realized the difference of XV5080 VST, HW, Integra 7 and ZenCode emulation. Seems that the most accurate for the Patch mode [e indeed XV5080 VST since Integra and ZenCore emulates the performance mode, right? Have you compare more paths from XV5080 Hardware x XV5080 VST? Tks!

Even the XV engine in the Jupiter X is not really like having a XV module.

I have both XV-5080 & JV-2080. Guess what, 2080 sounds warmer and more analog. Shame that Roland didn't included zenology patch mode of XV-5080.
@NegativeReferral2 жыл бұрын
The XV/JV patches are in Bank PR-E of Zenology, and they're also in the Jupiter X and Fantom. But they sound colder than the original instruments.
@XPJV2 жыл бұрын
@@NegativeReferral, of course they sound "colder". Because reverb, chorus and all patch routing settings are not included!

You do realize that the XV/JV sound engine is incredibly powerful and sounds gorgeous. Check out some of the patches from the guys at the LFO Store. Blows the doors off some more modern hardware. Plus you get 128 voices and multitimbrality with individual outs. Not a lot of modern stuff has that these days..
