Founded in 2006 in Tuminugan Farm, Bukidnon, Philippines, Hineleban Foundation promotes reforestation, environmental conservation, and sustainable farming practices to preserve the Mount Kitanglad, Philippines rainforest ecosystem.
Hineleban Foundation’s reforestation methodology is internationally recognized, having received the Grand Prize Award for Best Project in the forestry sector, from the Agricultural Research Centre for International Development and the French Development Agency in 2015.
The foundation’s name, Hineleban (He-ne-leu-ban), is a sacred Talaandig-Hingaunen term that literally means “Mother Tree of the rainforest that sustains the cycle of all life.”
