The classic. For us who can only homages like SKX009 and Pepsi Orient divers... Submariner, Daytona, Explorer...the GMT Master just jumps out at you but is so tasteful.

dying here...you got me for a second ! ( by the way...they aren't all "superlative chronometers" coming out of the box. My Explorer was running -6 to -9 a day and I had to have the AD regulate it. I'll give them credit for takin g about 10 days to make sure it was perfect when they gave it back. Now it never deviates by more than a second )

The Captain America! And 90% who buy this won’t even swim with it so I don’t care about the depth. I doubt any pro divers use this watch to dive with. This is the perfect EDC watch IMHO. I have my grandfathers version he bought in the 80’s I think. It’s great.

The caseback on the gmt’s are not as thick as the sub. The sub is slightly thicker which is why it has more of a depth rating.

I found the sub uncomfortable on my wrist. maybe the caseback is thicker then this one? i need to compare side by side. but this one didn't bug my wrist like the new sub did. maybe thats why its 100m wr.

You're very lucky to get a MK2 in 2021. I think the newer MK3 Pepsi is darker and more mute.

I think this is the MK3 it just looks bright in some of my videos because of a lot of light but in natural lighting it looks dark

Case back is different than the sub in terms of thickness, comparing my 114060 and 126710BLNR, the sub’s case back protrudes more. That’s all I can think of as far as the difference in WR.

I like the jumping hour. I have a quartz GMT that does that. For the most part I don’t really need it though. I usually just slave the 24h hand to the local time and offset the bezel 7 hours to track my wife’s family in Romania. I could just separate the hands and leave the bezel, but I’m still kind of bad at 24h time at a glance. Luckily the dial on the Glycine Airman has a 24h scale on the dial and bezel so I can read local time from the 24h with markers on the dial and 24h time offset on the bezel. And if I need to cheat I can look at the 12h hand. I’d have a harder time with this Rolex.

Hey escapement great vid once again. But just a question, I know u said the rolex gmt was the first watch in the world to track two different timezones. But in 1953 didnt glycine came out with the airman that could also track two different timezones. Glycine didnt call it a GMT though. If u are reffering to the first GMT then i think its rolex back in 1954.

"Looking nice" is great but what good is it if it DOESN'T hold up to rugged, daily use? ROLEX has a certain reputation. I hope it lives up to it's high entry price and billing. I've had cheap DIGITALS eich were practically indestructible. I just retired them when I decided to go with a more high end model. They'd STILL work if I pulled them out to wear today. Pricey cost doesn't necessarily mean a quality build , performance or longevity!

rolex is all about small improvements keeping quality high and durability long lasting. Thats why they don't do big dramatic changes. just improve each model slowly but surely over generations

The Batgirl is more rounded and better aesthetically, than the Pepsi! Blue and black on bezel representing day and night! The Pepsi bezel, Red reflects extreme heat or Sunset, color is not relevant like the batgirl! Same watch different bezel!

Yes your reaction is perfect for the modern day rolex collector. These are tool watches and smooth polished soft wood cannot scratch it princess. Rolex owners of the past who used their watches for exploring and tools would laugh at modern day rolex collectors. And before you ask your Rolex forum members...yes the Rolex sub can go in water.
