I follow watches and the market. I haven't owned a watch for 32 years. Watching Tim is a break from life and all its problems. One can escape reality for a few minutes and be mesmerized by Tim's passion and knowledge.

Love love love that patek 5320G. Wish they would make a style like that in an annual calendar so it may actually be attainable price wise. Favorite on the show today.

Every tourbillon I've ever encountered has been a remarkably "vocal" watch. By nature, there's far more force exerted by their escapements, and it it's obvious. The Panerai caliber P.2005 series holds all the records for volume. Best, Tim

Tim - taking time Saturday morning to climax twice on that AP Minute-repeater! That chime is definitely etched in my mind forever!
@the1916companywatchreviews4 жыл бұрын
Pretty impressive by 1990s standards, right? Most repeaters from that period are quite slow and quiet. Best, Tim

It's a shame that Blancpain no longer offers this style of watch in this size. My only objection to the 90s and early 2000s Lemans is that many of them featured solid casebacks over movements that deserved better. These two chronographs fixed that problem AND added remarkably limited editions (e.g., 20 or 25 pieces) to sweeten the deal. Best, Tim
@MrRoyck104 жыл бұрын
I was one of those who questioned AP as part of the holly trinity, this AP tourbillon minute repeater is a testament of pure artistic craftsmanship.

This week the heavy weight of a brand is clearly shown, PP 5740 Nautilus Perpetual vs BP Perpetual Chrono, the price difference is brutal for a similar quality and with similar complications. My vote this weekend for the BP Lem Flyback Chrono ! Thanks Tim PS. To many FPJs ?

Fun fact on the Sinn UX the case is ceritfied to 12000 meters, it is the movement that limits the depth rating to 5000 meters. Also the caseback has a diaphragm that expands as the oil warms and shrinks when it cools. I have a UX and I love it....very unique.

All true. This might be the most underrated and innovative dive watch ever built. It's tough, accurate, engineered unlike anything else, fairly affordable, and even quite thin! I'm thinking of buying this for a friend. Best, Tim

@@the1916companywatchreviews Something you might want to check is service. As I recall, these oil filled Sinns must be returned to the mother ship in Frankfurt for service (read: battery change), RGM can't service them.

Surprised about your comments regarding the date change. The cal 3330 is based on the ETA 7750- 7753 I believe. The date adjustment is typical of that calibre. Check out the Longines Spirit Chronograph with the Longines L688.4 calibre (the .4 designation on this calibre denotes its COSC certification as opposed to the standard 688 and 688.2. The .4 variant also has a silicon balance spring as does the Omega Cal 3330). Quite common.

@@S.PeresRC There's no bidding; we want those watches to be priced at market. The market on these is changing by the week, so we don't post a static price. Best, Tim

They're not offered publicly on our website, so the pricing is a private matter between collectors and the handful of people here who specialize in those watches. I'm not authorized to discuss pricing on watches not listed on the site. Because their market changes frequently, we prefer to just quote a price rather than update dozens of watch listings each week. Best, Tim

Overall a great selection of watches today...with the exception of the DeWitt, that’s one of the ugliest watches I think I’ve ever seen! Who in their right mind would of purchased that thing new for a quarter of a million? 🤯 A tasteless thing, with just so many styling faux pas. It looks like it was designed by a 10 year old! The diamond encrusted AP at the end looks demure by comparison!

I have no idea, but I doubt anyone ever has paid retail for one of these. Given that the technically similar Journe Tourbillon Souverain retailed for less than half of this thing, I can't rationalize the original MSRP. Best, Tim
