Ceramic is Shiny and looks expensive. Aluminum is elegant and charming. I will be comparing soon this Rolex to the Omega seamaster of the same era. I previously owned ceramic seamaster professional and another master co-axial. Still I prefer this older aluminum seamaster.

while I like this model, I owned one back in the 90's... The newer ones, especially the 3235 movement models, are just better watches.. they've really upped their game, quality and kept the classic look... they're basically perfect now.
@thepickyreviewer2 жыл бұрын
I must disagree. Design wise from an engineering point of view this model has better ergonomics. Or maybe it’s my smaller wrist 🙈😅. About the movement, power reserve doesn’t mean a lot to me. My datejust 41 with the 3235 had a noisy rotor compared to this older 3135. The bracelet unjustified increase to 21mm add nothing to the watch but extra weight. Removing the chamfer at the case sides, which Tudor has now, took away some of the design elegance and charm.

I picked up a 16610 (2008 M serial with engraved rehaut) last month but am having trouble loving it. I was tossing between 16610 vs 116610LN and opted for the 5 digit, for many reasons such as the smaller profile (i have smaller wrists 6.5inch~ ). However the bracelet, clasp are huge improvements on the newer references and although the 16610 bracelet is light I still have issues with the fitment especially with the fixed links on the 6 o'clock side, not to mention its very flimsy design in comparison to the new 116610LN. I also prefer the maxi dial and prefer it to the 5 digit. I agree the supercase lugs are too fat but am not sure if I'll end up trading the 5 digit for 6 digit.. I know the 5 digits are no longer available and a lot more nostalgic, classic vintage proportions, and may even be more collectable (arguably).. but for daily comfort fit n finish I dont think there is a comparison. Help me love the 16610 !

Check the 16610, 116610 & 126610 in person and choose the one you like the most. Mostly check the looks and the fit on your wrist. This is the most important thing. 1-Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. In my eyes I love this reference design more than the current 126610. It is so charming, slim, elegant and durable. 2-This model is not produced anymore, not like the newly available reference which is in continuous production. I think it makes more special as the number of good quality pieces will be less and less overtime.

Not even close, the ceramic variants are superior in every objective matrix. The stamped clasp, hollow link stretch and scratch prone aluminum bezels where weakness that the new model corrected. The only appeal would be an emotional nostalgic feeling for the 5 digit reference. The other reason would be that you are diminutive in stature and build, and need a dainty wearing watch.

@thepickyreviewer Жыл бұрын
On paper yes 🤷🏻♂️ but design ergonomics I must say no. It also depends on the wrist size. Rolex sacrificed the size and weight of the bracelet for the sake of the 41mm case diameter increase. And for those who still want slimmer and lighter submariners they can still buy the older models from the market 👍
@whereRbearsTeeth Жыл бұрын
@@thepickyreviewernot just “on paper.” The build quality of the ceramic submariners is simply superior to the pre ceramic submariners. This is just a fact. I’ve never been a fan of the supercase 11 series subs. The proportions were just off. But the current 12 series submariners have proper proportions and the quality blows away a pre ceramic sub. As far as size goes, we are talking about 1/2 mm difference.

@@whereRbearsTeeth you notice the size and weight when you try them both. The new submariner bracelet is 21mm width with a bigger clasp. It all adds to the weight and the way it wears.
