Just received my 39 pepsi in and I can't say enough good things about Steinhart. This is my third Steinhart and none disappoint. The quality is excellent as is the timekeeping. I have many watches, Rolex Omega and longines and Steinhart is my brand of choice for an affordable Swiss watch. Unfortunately, I sold my previous two Steinharts to fund a Nivada Grenchen Antarctic, which arrived totally dead (bad QC) and had to be returned, hence my purchase of the 39 GMT.

My Steinhart is the smoothest watch I own. (My other brands include Ball, Zodiac and Glycine) I have the 42mm Ocean One Vintage GMT and just ordered the Ocean 39 Vintage (Pepsi) GMT Vintage from OLKO. Considered the 42mm version from GNOMON but cost more and was aluminum bezel instead of ceramic like OLKO provides in their exclusive version. Can't wait to see how 39mm sits on my 7.25" wrist. Prefer 40mm but not offered.
@CaptainWillyandTheWonderMonkey Жыл бұрын
@sstaub Weird story but one of my Steinhart watches that I sold for the Nivada came back up for sale on Ebay, same watch, same buyer, so I bought it back. It is the Gnomon Steinhart Adventure Polar White!
@ByteBanditBob Жыл бұрын
that is so cool! Did you get for less than what you sold it for?
@CaptainWillyandTheWonderMonkey Жыл бұрын
@@ByteBanditBob A little less, but not much. Gnomon has good coupon deals, so I always save some on the purchase. Funny story though is that one of the watches that I sold to fund the Nevada came back for sale on ebay, so I bought it back!

Great Post! Thank You. I have the Steinhart Ocean Vintage GMT Keramik Premium on Jubilee. A tip with Bracelets - Yes, the Standard Steinhart Clamshell Fastener is difficult to open using the tab that is adjacent to he Safety-Lock. But if You open it from the Opposite end of the clasp, then it pops open effortlessly.Also, i always wear my bracelets Back-To-Front, so in that Position, that end of the clasp is easier to Deploy. Try it. Y'll LIKE it! More, Please!

@@jean4j_ I like the ceramic…plus it won’t scratch…aluminum has more of a vintage feel though if you like that look
@thepickyreviewer2 жыл бұрын
@@brianmurphy8154 True, it’s a matter of styling. Both are good. With ceramic you get the shine, with aluminum you get the charm. You can get bezel inserts separately from Gnomon but they are overpriced.
@jean4j_2 жыл бұрын
@@thepickyreviewer I think indeed the ceramic bezel is more durable and shiny. But since Steinhart pepsi ceramic bezel has more vibrant and intense colors (compared to the Rolex GMT for instance), I'm afraid it might long too much bling bling. I didn't have the chance to see any Steinhart in real life, so I wouldn't know. What do you think? Also, how much how a bezel insert from Steinhart?

I think Steinhart are now using the same print on the bezel for the 39mm as the 42mm. It used to be different. On the website the 39mm looks perfect. On the 42mm the 20 and 22 look slightly crooked or not straight. I have just ordered the 39mm but will return it if it doesnt look like how they show online.

I've had the itch for a Pepsi style watch and was almost certainly going for the Ball Roadmaster Pilot GMT which is obviously a few steps up from this. But what you said about not for every day use with the color scheme you are absolutely correct like a penny dropped. I'm buying one of these to scratch the itch and with the extra cash I'm putting this against either the Longines Zulu time 39mm or the Conquest Chrono or potentially the spirit flyback chronograph. Thanks for your breakdown on this piece it's a good looking watch with a decent movement at a fraction of the cost of the Ball. Thank you sir💪⌚

Thank you for your comment and You are welcome 😇 I love Longines Zulu time 😍more than the hydroconquest. Hydroconquest crown lugs are very sharp on the fingers when using the crown.

@@thepickyreviewer thanks for the reply it's the conquest chronograph I was referring to only problem is it a bit big for my skinny ass wrists 😂 will have to try it on. I agree the Zulu is very nice!
@FatherVampireАй бұрын
In my opinion, I prefer the Steinhart case as it is so much slimmer allowing the watch to sit closer to the wrist. Other than that, great review! Well, with the exception of the fact you finish the video re-asking the question of whether the Steinhart stands up to the Rolex... and then state that the answer to that question must wait for another video (?!). Isn't that question part of the very title of THIS video? And yet, rather than address it, you ask us to await yet another video for the answer. A bit of bait-and-switch there. Not kewl. There's no doubt Steinhart offers such great value for the money and is so very well designed. I currently own 4 Steinharts and love and wear them all. My only complaint with Steinhart will always be the clasp, which needs to be seriously redesigned to offer a two-button release. A glide-lock option would also be nice.

Smells of snobbery. I cannot fathom why someone will part with 10 grand + for a tool watch, worth at maximum, 2 grand. It’s a functional tool that tells time. Get the Steinhart, hell, get 5 if you’d like and put the remainder into the S&P 500 instead. Thank you Gunter Steinhart for bringing us accurate, well made, affordable timepieces. If I need to part with my Steinhart at knifepoint, I’d do so in a heartbeat and replace it for €500. You on the other hand will cry in your beer for a week, if not longer. Rolex owners put their watches in a safe. What’s the point?
