In my opinion you should give it up. I personally have had terrible experiences buying used stuff. The majority of people are simply dishonest or careless.

Got a 1675 Mark 1 Long E in Paris (doesn't glow so no radioactivity, apologies), all original if you are interested. I live in Paris and we could visit the Rolex expert together. My problem is who to sell it to.

1: but from Japan if you want old school GMT. Stop buying online. 2: Go to AD and just get in line

One expects and indeed demands that a vintage car, say a Ferrari, will contain the appropriate number of new parts commensurate with age/milage/usage. One would demand certain replacement parts to be Genuine Ferrari, depending on age and availability. However other parts such as tyres, brake pads, sometimes dampers, brake lines, etc. are ideally from Tier 1 OEMs and incorporating the latest performance/reliability technology.

Is it possible the GMT hand on your watch is from a later model but still an authentic GMT hand? Is it possible to take your watch to a reputable vintage Rolex specialist and get it restored with original parts? Is the movement as it should be? All may not be lost.
@Horologique10 ай бұрын
Hello. This happened many years ago if you check the publication date of the video. Original parts for vintage Rolex cost a true fortune, I have already seen bezel inserts for this reference going for 3000 euros. I sent back the watch and got a refund.

It's funny how you never get sent a better watch than the one you purchased. Believe it or not I had the exact same experience happen to me with the same watch 16570 white dial.

The 1675 in this video is fake
@Horologique5 жыл бұрын
It's not a fake all the way, it's a Frankenwatch, made of original and non original parts, that's what I say in the review! The movement and dial are real, the bezel and insert are replacements and the rest I don't know. That's why I returned it and that's the whole point of the video, how people should be wary of these kind of things

@@Horologique well, hands stack is also wrong, so, the movement is also fake
@Horologique5 жыл бұрын
Hand stack is correct for a 1575 GMT movement: GMT, hours, minutes, seconds. Later GMT references using the 3085 movement have the now typical hour, gmt, minutes seconds. The movement on this one was as original as it gets for the reference www.fratellowatches.com/tbt-rolex-gmt-master-1675/

Dude, you are just a flipper? You don't enjoy wearing the watch? Buying a vintage watch comes down to compromise. Everybody knows the most mint vintage Rolex watches goes for hundreds of thousands dollars. I'd say 90% original parts on a vintage watch you are lucky man to find. Every watch is polished.
@Horologique4 жыл бұрын
I plead guilty, I'm a bit of a flipper but not for every watch, certainly not for my grails. What I'm trying to say in the video is that, if you are into vintage watches and are willing to put a big chunk of your hard earned cash you have to be really careful, do a lot of research and bring the watch to a recognised professional. Not every vintage model goes for tens of thousands, but in the 10k range you can have wonderful pieces, but it's there that you have to be careful. I knew that many parts were non original when I bought it, but the case not matching was something that I couldn't look past. So I gave back this watch and bought a 1680 Submariner from the same era that was in incredible condition, almost all original. Still, I very much would like to own some day a beautiful 1675 with most original parts but they are really, really had to find for less than 15 or 20k, a range that is beyond my means
@russiangopnik96394 жыл бұрын
@@Horologique Thanks for the great advice. Enjoy your vintage Rolex Submariner. You are right. The 10k range seems like the range to watch out for because that's the range for first time luxury watch buyers. New watch buyers tend to not know the most basic watch things. That's good to know if I get a polar Rolex Explorer 2. That's in the 6k to 10k range, but never messed with much. Only polished and sometimes faked.
