On the non-hacking Nautilus' (Nautili?) does it negatively affect the movement or damage it in any way when you use backpressure to stall the seconds hand?

If anything, this video blatantly shows: 1. Rolex bracelet construction is the best there is. 2. Its buckle is also markedly superior. Seeing that VC overseas can build superior buckle, It simply has no excuse not to offer it in 2021. 3. Its 72 hour power reserve while still staying just 11.4mm thick is certainly a decisive advantage as well. 8.5 mm thick watch with meagre 40 hours is not impressive no matter how I see it. This video also fails to mention that servicing Patek is neither easy nor quick, no matter which locale it is. Conclusion : buy Rolex if you want a luxury watch that is reliable, practical and also with the best after sales service there is. Patek can be a credible choice if you are after high quality movement finishing, case finishing or brand cachet. Just know that its bracelet, buckle and aftersales service is not the best there is..

I respect the Nautilus for the reasons you pointed out and no one can argue that Patek makes some amazing watches. Personally I’m not a big fan of this design and the price disqualifies it for me anyway. I happen to like this YM a lot and was strongly considering purchasing one, but I ended up purchasing a Milguass Z blue instead as this was a watch I really liked and I was concerned at the time that the Z might be getting the chop, I really wanted to buy a new one so I went that direction. It is my first Rolex and represents 20 years of work with the same employer which I think is pretty good considering I’m still under 40. Two different watches but I love them both and I hope to purchase a YM as well down the road. Great video as always Tim, thank you!

I’ve owned the identical Rolex for over 5 months now, with the updated 70 hour power reserve. Absolutely love my decision went I walked into the ad looking for a sub I bought this instead. I personally believe they are very overlooked and undervalued at this time as it is a stainless sports watch that’s is fair price for now!

In fact they both have their holy grail version : the nautilus in blue dial and the YM in slate (rhodium) dial! As we speak the YM40 rhodium is going very high on grey market. Another thing I should have buy 2 years ago….

I think the YM ( especially with the grey rhodium dial ) doesn’t stand up and shout as much as a sub hulk of gmtso it’s easier to wear as a daily and attracts less attention from undesirables

Tim, you are a guy who can sell the hell out of a watch. I always looked at this model Yachtmaster as a sissy watch for fancy lads (who cares about the $100K sissy watch). HOWEVER, I see the Yachmaster benefits much more clearly now. Thanks for that! I love the detail and YEAH Patek how the hell do you engineer a watch to be more likely to lose time than gain time? -3/+2 is just shameful. Even Omega engineers to -0/+5 on some models if I'm not mistaken (or is that Oris? you'll know).

With the Patek you get cheap pin sleeves/no hacking movement/less accuracy and only a 35 hour power reserve. (I guess you get what you pay for lol )

No one buys a Patek for a hacking movement and screw-in links. A solid stainless steel Seiko Dive Watch, with hacking movement and screw-in links cost about $200 bucks.

Wow. The Patek watch has no hacking and a modest power reserve of 45 hours, sometimes less. For the price range that's certainly a deal breaker, notwithstanding the beautiful aesthetics. I was never drawn to Patek watches generally. The vast majority of them are boring and look too conventional. You're paying mostly for reputation and history. Overrated! I'd much prefer a Breguet, which produces some of the most elegant and beautiful watches.

The Rolex looks like the typical, "run-of-the-mill" steel dive watch with dotted indices. Having said that, Rolex claims superiority over Omega and other "luxury brand" watches, but when reviewed or compared to "High-end Luxury" or Haute Hologerie timepieces...Rolex "can't cut the mustard".
