Their old gods might have once been mere ideas like ours are mere ideas, in which case this wouldn't be against canon lore. The 'gods' that are in control now, the goa'uld and their System Lords, would definitely want to rewrite the history of every world they came into contact with, tearing down their old gods, erasing their history, and culling their culture wherever they went as they established their dominance. So in that sense the group are very much accurate so far. :D

@@rfc1526 "Indeed." Lol but seriously, I used to watch Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis every chance I could. So seeing this, after finishing off the entirety of Layla the Vampire Slayer, is quite amazing in so many nostalgic ways. So thank you Roll4it cast, and Lauren? You've already proven to be quite the wicked System Lord with how easily Eris slipped into Stargate Command's central base. That was a clever ploy and I love it. I just hope they don't get kicked in the teeth later lol. Hehe and nice, Eris loves torture, cute response Lauren. Terrifying, but cute. :P

Lore/Tech notes: DHDs are not designed to hold addresses. About 50 or so addresses can typically be recovered from a DHD, because a dialling leaves residual imprints in it. This requires someone who knows a fair bit about DHDs, and the proper equipment. When recovering them, there's no way to tell which order they were dialled in. (SGA S2E10) The only person capable of figuring out the last address dialled on a DHD in the shows, is Adria (the Orici from the Ori arc). Because she has Ori granted powers, and has a ton of knowledge about the dhds. This took her at least "a couple of hours", though she got faster every attempt. (SG1 S10E11) There's no redial function (otherwise places like alpha site would've been screwed day 1) No gate can hold a wormhole longer than 38 minutes, unless it's pumped with incredible amounts of power. The typical case in the shows is a black hole, and this is the first time we encounter it (SG1 S2E15). The Ori use a black hole for their supergate, Anubis uses the ancient superweapon to do it, the Atlantis Replicators just had the power to do it, without a black hole. (Referenced multiple times, notable reference: SGA S3E20)

Yeah, them "redialing" the DHD is the hyperspace jump from SW Ep8 of this series unless they retcon it.
@Antaioz6 жыл бұрын
Atleast it would be nice and easy to retcon Just say Eris, liking surveillance, interfaced a Goa'uld device with the dhd's of her base's planets, recording any dials. Pop open the dhd, Ga'rak sees the device, redial last, off they go. I'm hoping R4I don't keep the redial thing as part of regular dhd functions. It breaks so much. There'd be no way to keep any address secret, which messes with a ton - the tok'ra notably, off the top of my head. You can also be followed immediately anywhere. Normally unless you watch the actual dialling, you only get the symbols, you have to sit there and work out the order in which the symbols were pressed by process of elimination or some other data. Also considering EE mentioned rolls/rules for watching someone dial, it'd also invalidate any real need to do that.
@ancapftw91136 жыл бұрын
@@Antaioz Eris is the goddess as of discord. Surveilance and subterfuge being her thing would make sense.
@nvfury135 жыл бұрын
Redialing isn’t calling the last number to call you. It is calling the last number you dialed, in this case successfully as it doesn’t register failed dials. Not to mention that it would probably also have a “clear history” function.

Interesting Egyptology fact: the eye EE has on his forhead is the Left Eye of Horus, the egyptian god of the sky. the left eye of horus represented the moon, while the Right Eye of Horus represented the Sun, leading it to also be known as The Eye of Ra. I know it's not major, but it's interesting to see the servant of "Ra the sun god" wearing the representation of the moon on his forehead.

Abidosian was derived from ancient egyptian, and it is similar enough to Goa'uld that Skara could understand it, and Daniel could understand Goa'uld after learning Abidosian. So Goa'uld is very similar to ancient Egyptian. Maybe similar to how Latin and English are related. Or Ancient and latin.

Not to be uh french-centric but every time i hear "coup de grâce" said by an english person it makes it tilt so i'll say it just to explain, as a french person, IT IS NOT PRONOUNCED "KOO DEU DE GRA" but "KOO DEU GRACE" yes like graceful, it means the mercyful hit that ends pain, the mercy hit in a fight that ends the life of a suffering enemy. So hm please if any french-speaking people can up that comment to further linguistic understanding between anglo-saxons and french then up it.
