Great video. There's nothing else on the market in this category of aerator. It's no wonder he can't keep up with all the orders. Very clever design, and does an great job. I've got a total of about 1200 sq. ft. of lawn, with a lot of areas not accessible with a large gas aerator, and this tool is perfect. I've got the dual disc model, and I appreciate the extra weight. Pulls great plugs and never clogs, and that's in Georgia soil. Heartily recommend this for folks who don't mind some exercise.

lol even if you buy brand new weight plates from a gym equipment supplier and get replacement splines from ebay, it only comes up to 70usd. Good on this guy for finding a side hustle but the price is so high that someone can easily come in and do this for cheaper. I'll be making my own as well. would probably just buy it if it was 150.

The price has gone up quite a lot. I paid $279 in 2021. I know materials prices are through the roof, and so are labor and warehouse space. And shipping is probably close to $100 of that. I probably wouldn't pay $499, but if you compare it to other options it's still cheaper.

I can't easily go measure it but I would guess it's about 12" diameter. I don't think it matters exactly, you could probably make anything roughly this size work.

I just replaced the rotors on my truck, definitely using the old ones to make one of those. I'm thinking about having a double rotor setup and maybe tow it behind the lawn mower. I kinda think maybe there should be some bearings where it rotates on the shaft. But hey, this gave me a great idea!

then you are applying weight over a 12 inch surface. If there are 4 spikes, you would probably need to increase the weight by 3 or 4x try lifting 200 pounds and roll that around for a day. You can probably make one and add posts for gym weights.

@cameranmanner4701 Жыл бұрын
@@douglasgrant8315 I understand the issue of rolling weight. That would not be a problem, but if you have to move this heavy pig from your house, brother, mother's house. It becomes a problem, not just the lifting it's the space required too. It's really sold as a portable device for small lawn owners. Not everyone has a truck or a large suv to lug this around. Maybe the inventor can make expansion adapters to give others the width required for larger lawns or increased effiency.

@yachtboy2 жыл бұрын
You would want to do this when the ground is soft, either after a good rainfall or a good watering. It doesn't need to be mud, but if the ground is dry and hard I can't imagine any aeration technique would work. The weight of the tool is mentioned in the video, and on his website. There are two models, the lighter one I got is about 40 pounds IIRC.
