hi skatie.love your video style nice soothing voice .I recently started outdoor roller skating after 45 years later it was 1975 school discos.i had own skates then.But obviously 60 now so bit creaky.im a window cleaner 40 years now son found its best to skate when I haven't worked that day as ankles ache .Been watching dirty Debbie use lady been practising my crossovers.found a outdoor netball basketball court near me.it made me feel more confident about crossovers.i did used to skate backwards etc years ago.Now I bought skates off ebay 2nd hand.seller said they quite fast skates.they are78a 62mm supreme aerobic says on wheels.i have tightened wheels up bit to slow down bit.i can stop quick with spin round turn ok.im nervous about stopping with toe stop maybe t stop better haven't tried that but I realised crossover turn can slow you if you have room.one problem is my wheels seem to catch now and again and not sure if its me or skates .dont think its me so I want to get bit of speed going along and I get this wobble now and again which jolts me.im wondering is it wheels or bearings.any advice would be greatly appreciated skatie.imoff to penzance in 2 weeks so trying get practice in. I saw a lady mature I think skating up down by sea.great place to skate..,also we have nice place near us north Wales llandudno it has wide promenade by sea but the surface there was like chipping in surface which is rough.a shame don't know if different wheels help there.i found pavements or roads better.thanks.steve Show less

Hi Eva- great info! Thank you! I noticed that you included OJ Super Juice wheels- which I thought were for skateboards. Will they in fact work for roller skates? I like the size and colors and would love them if they’re compatible. Please share if you know for sure. Thanks!

Hi Suzanne! They are indeed skateboard wheels :(((((((( I actually have not tried them on roller skates (maybe I should ;)) I think in trying to find wheel picture I tried really hard to find some where you could see the numbers (maybe that is why I added it). Sorry to disappoint, they are pretty wheels :( . If what attracts you to them is the colors and look, you should look at radar energy wheels!

Can I put moxi wheels or any brand on my impala roller skates? And does the hub diameter matters.. Cause I've seen some wheels say 32mm and others 22mm
@evaquin97114 жыл бұрын
Hey Daisy! Yes, you can put wheels from any brand! Now, in terms of the hub, they are pretty standard atleast for the brands you named ( I would still check on sizing obviously but aside from ordering the wrong size bearings, I didn't have any issues getting the appropriate wheels and bearings to fit my impala skates. Here is the link the bearings I have, I have used them on Radar energy wheels and the moxi fundae wheels. www.amazon.com/-/es/gp/product/B0094J6GQ0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

so i have the basic gummy wheels that come with the moxi lollys, and i’m looking to get the fundae wheels so i can start part skating! do you think the fundaes would be good for the rink as well as the park?
@evaquin97114 жыл бұрын
Hey Zoe! Fundae wheels are kind of an in between of gummy outdoor wheels and harder park wheels. Because rinks are usually coated hardwood they have a lot more grip . For this reason the fundaes will probably be better for the rink than the moxi lollys and may work fine, but I am not sure if they would be the best but I believe they would be fine they only thing I would like to test out is how the wheel does with the smaller width. I actually have some, once the quarantine is over I will probably let you know by experience! :P

@evaquin97114 жыл бұрын
Hey Minnie! I personally use the Radar energy wheels, they are great for outside and you can also use them inside although you sacrifice a bit of speed. That being said, I really do like them for outside skating :) The only other ones I have used are the ones that came with the impala skates and the moxy fundae wheels which I thought were also good outdoor wheels. @jessica-sm1nc4 жыл бұрын
hey Eva! I’m currently skating with some very old wheels ( to the point where the numbers have worn off) but they are the smallest size you can get, and very hard. while these still work good for skating indoors and that’s where I’ve learned and become comfortable doing spins and such, outdoor skating seems impossible. do you have any recommendations for hybrid wheels? As much as I’d love to have 2 pairs of skates for both indoor and outdoor, I think that just buying a set of hybrid wheels should do the job. any help would be appreciated! thank you so much!
@evaquin97114 жыл бұрын
Hey Jessica! Yes, it is definitely more economical to have 2 sets of wheels versus 2 pairs of skates! I'm on the same boat as you though and changing out wheels again and again gets tiring. I am currently using the radar energy wheels as a hybrid wheel. I like them a lot but it is on the softer side on the durometer scale for a hybrid wheel at 78a, which means that they are good outside, and pretty decent inside but you do lose speed skating inside (which I don't mind, so I'm good with them). Additionally, I do own the moxi fundae wheels, and they work fine outside and at the skatepark and they are a little harder so although I have not tried them I think they would do better inside than the radar energy wheels. (I could not find the durometer for reference thought) So to summarize everything, I would get a wheel that is within 78a- and up not exceeding mid 80's. if you go higher the wheel will get harder. My recommendation would be trying the moxi fundae wheels, although I haven't tried them inside myself, hope that helps. Sorry this is so long!

I started with Impalas and then upgraded to Chayas.. oh. my. god, I can't get used to the big chunky wheels :') the worst part for me is the rounded edge. I do not skate on the street, I mostly roll on outdoors basket courts, so I'm thinking of changing to a smaller and more edgy wheel. I had just managed to learn some artistic moves and it feels like I know nothing while wearing the Chayas. I can't even shoot the duck O.o Has anyone tried radar energy 57 wheels on Chayas? Let me know! I'm also thinking of trying the impala wheels on them.

@evaquin97114 жыл бұрын
Usually, yes (assuming you are using any roller skate wheels) but if they are too big sometimes they hit the plate and can't spin as well. If you have this issue there are little dividers you can slide in to separate your wheel from the Truck.
