Hey Katie, just wanted to say I practiced the jumps today!! Thanks so much for your video. I started off looking like an arthritic granny jumping, but in the end, at least in the video of myself, it looked like a jump, woooo!! Once I'm used to it I'll try the 180. I went all the way down the slight incline jumping once I got it, must have done 15 in a row haha!

Have you done other work in TV or similar? The production quality of your videos is very high for such a new channel as is your confidence/nature in front of the camera.

Hi! I got here because I'm trying to improve my jumping abilities since that is a weird mental block for me. I can 180 but just jumping while going forward, jumping on/off or over something is difficult. But I have always heard that you need to stagger your feet as much as possible. Do you only jump like this (like in the video) or do you also jump while staggered? :)
@Skatie3 жыл бұрын
You can absolutely jump staggered as the weight is split between two feet. If you’re jumping staggered, it’s easier to lift each foot independently so if you’re going over something that’s on the ground, lift the front foot and then put it down, then lift the back foot and put it down. You can, however, land a two-foot jump staggered if you’re more comfortable like that.

I was just curious wouldn’t skating with the ground wet destroy the bearings?
@Skatie2 жыл бұрын
Ideally You don’t want to get your bearings wet.

Ive been practicing the 2 foot jump on a staggered position. Is that wrong? Im trying to jump off a curb and i saw a video that said to do it like that
@Skatie9 ай бұрын
It’s great to do it both ways. I also have a video that says about trying it staggered too.
@jonesyluvsme3 жыл бұрын
Skatie, what skate model are you currently using right now? 🤔
@Skatie3 жыл бұрын
I skate in a Risport Cristallo boot with an Atlas plate and Sketchers wheels 75D. The Atlas plate is comparable to a Roll-Line plate but no longer in production. I’ve been skating forever so my outside setup is a little eclectic. Haha

Where are men supposed to buy roller skates? Literally can’t find any men’s size 11 skates anywhere , so disheartening that roller skating is such a sexist sport
@Skatie3 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear you’re having trouble finding skates. There are a number of brands that cater for larger sizes, Risport, Edea, Bauer.

The Sure Grip Fame goes up to a US men's 14 I believe. Skates run in mens sizes and I've definitely seen plenty in an 11 (US sizes, though. I'm uncertain where you're from.). But they're definitely out there! I was doing some looking and found plenty of skates in that size, but they were all sold out. It may take some time and I'm sorry you're having such a rough time, but I hope you're able to get your hands on some soon. Also, the Sure Grip Cyclone runs extremely big and you might even be able to fit into a 10.
@briigee5443 жыл бұрын
@@SJisReading if you've seen the recently can you send me a link because every site ive found that has suregrip, don't have any mens sizes other than tiny sizes like a 3 or a 5 nothing in actual mens sizes. I'm from cali, luckily pretty close to alot of skate shops, but if their website doesn't have them i doubt they would have them in store ya know. But i promise you i have checked almost every single website possible, and theres no mens sizes or else i would've ordered them a month ago when i first started looking
