I actually paid to see this in theaters. I haven’t been that upset paying to see a movie since Dick Tracey

I remember the original one but had totally forgotten that the remake exists even though I have seen it once.

This was one of those films where all you had to do was see the movie poster and go, "nope." It just looks bad upon first impression.

The moving goalpost of "Who receives a Credit" baffles me, because it highlights both unaccredited stunt actors who did large stunts for a paycheck with no legacy to show for it, or lead actors doing wildly dangerous stunts for no compensation. I get that if you're an intern who was on set for one week, doing Starbucks orders, as an internship, they MIGHT wish to omit you. But stunts are THE highest risk aspects of production. Insane they wouldn't even get a credit. SEE ALSO: The early video game industry, where the people who actually MADE THE GAME, were considered unimportant by large developers.

Its worth noting that Chris Klein turned down his role in American Pie: Wedding to appear in Rollerball.

Release the McTiernan Cut!
@박상빈-p5kАй бұрын
But McTiernan didn’t want to. Now he consider original director’s cut is also not a good movie. So he doesn’t feel like to go back and prove producers were right
@YakcoolАй бұрын
lol I have always liked The 13th Warrior & Rollerball.
@SSS1984MMM20 күн бұрын
Sounds like McTiernan is the one who ruined this film. All this BS about how his cut should be released is laughable. The original script is what should have been filmed as it sounded closer to the spirit of the original. The moment McTiernan started changing things he should have been fired!

Damn I really liked this movie for the cars the Eastern Europe thing and soundtrack

one of the most successful sequels of the 70s is Jaws 2. Oh and Bond, James Bond, then the slasher boom happened in 1981 and many sequels were successful, even action (Rocky II, III, IIII, Rambo first blood part 2, 3)), sci fi (star wars-empire strikes back!)

The announcer in Rollerball is none other than Paul Heyman who is more successful in his exploits in the pro wrestling scene.

last action hero was too ahead of its time but at the same time it wouldnt be able to exist nowdays it's meta commentary in the over the top nature but also restrictive aspects of 80's and 90's is quite in line with scream deconstruction of slashers, and now days is all about meta deconstructions, but the only way to actually make this movie work is people is aware of the bombastic nature of these movies which nowadays sure there is explosions galore and ridicules antics but is not the same flavor as 80's action at all, so parodying them as a whole would be quite hard, it would be easier picking a franchise to comment on liek john wick but then you are pigeonholing it, so yeah, last action hero came out both at worse times but also the only time it could, maybe had it been the early 2000 it had had a chance too, but who knows
