This could be a really cool series. There are a lot of fun solo games out there, like the Pathfinder card games, Elder Sign, Robinson Crusoe, Run Fight or Die, Zombies!!!, and Legendary Encounters.

I just played the same scenario as you Jonathan but I had to swap out Moon Knight for Ultron (as I don't have Ultron in my set). I was getting my ass handed to me until my 3rd to last turn when I got a 13 attack to knock off Mole Man for the 4th time. The next Villain card would have been a scheme twist and I would have lost. It all came down to my 6 attack Moon Knight card in the end. Challenging but fun scenario. Cheers!

Aren't the hydra and new recruit cards only used if you're playing as a villain team? I see people playing with these cards (along with kidnapped bystanders, etc.) while playing as the heroes, and it doesn't make any sense.

Thematically, yes, but since Legendary is a game with so many expansions and possibilities for variant play, you can pretty much use whatever parts of it you want! That may not fly in tournament play, but if playing just for fun, switching those elements up usually works just fine.

The official rules for if you mix the hero and villian sets (which you can do and is a blast) is that you include the unique stacks from both villian and hero sets. In other words, if you mix the hero/villian sets in any way, then you're going to put all six of the following stacks out on the board for use during any given mixed game: New Recruits Madame Hydra Shield Officer Sidekicks Wounds Bindings However, you'll mix the hero/villian Bystanders into a single stack since they function identical to thier respective counterparts. Hope that clarifies things for you. And trust me, it's such a wealth of diverse play style and tactics for the players to utilize for customization because of this. It's incredibly fun and incredibly rewarding to play a mixed hero/villian game.

What type of sleeves do you use for Legendary?

I use Ultra Pro Standard Blue sleeves. I find they're a good level of quality without being super expensive. - Jonathan
