Dan, man you are blowing our minds with this stuff. This is really really excellent work. What you make look so easy to do, guy that have been in the hobby can't come close. I continue to watch and to be amazed. It's really an Art what you do.

Hell of a job Dan! If you don't pursue a career in the graphic arts or professional modeling in the entertainment industry, it would be a terrible shame. Your work is absolutely top notch and I thoroughly enjoy it. Thanks for sharing with us. Bill

Hi Dan, I've just subscribed after I found your channel while searching for modelling related videos. I model British Railways (I live in the UK) and it's nice to see that you guys over in the states like to customise diesel locos and cars (we call them wagons) just like british diese eral modellers do, I haven't uploaded any of my work yet but will in due course. Your weathering is very well done and I've seen some techniques that I'd like to try out. Following a recommendation in one of your videos I bought myself a can of Testors Dullcoat to try out, it does look very nice stuff.

About your module, how about adding a culvert running underneath the roadbed. I love the dual compartment tank car and you finished it in just one week? I must be cursed. Something always comes up to fcku with me. Misplaced tools, missing hard to find parts, or items out of stock, or can't find the the glue that you seen everywhere last week is now nowhere to be found. Anyways, they look great and I need to start buying some tank cars for brine service myself. I can't wait to see more videos from you. Have a great day!

I'm sure that no matter what you do, you'll excel as you are very talented. I would like to see you do a few n scale cars or locomotives, to see how your techniques work on a smaller scale. Bill

Hey I just got in to weathering. do you have a tutorial on weathering a box car? if not can you make one?
@oaktapuss12238 жыл бұрын
that would be great.
@DansRailroad20118 жыл бұрын
I don't for boxcars as of now, but I have a bunch of other videos explaining carbody weathering that can be adapted to boxcars, or any other car you can think of.

Hey Dan do you have a how to -- washing technique video?
@DansRailroad20118 жыл бұрын
I actually have been working on something along the lines of washes, but I haven't much to show, everyone by now, knows how to do them and if you search weathered trains on here you will find that everyone and their grandmas post videos about washes, and stick to it as the whole car weathering technique, (which is completely wrong!) I will see what I can do when I get the chance.

Dad those custom tank cars are fantastic. I'm a tanker fan myself. It's time for Intermountain, Accurail and others to get going on new tankers. Check out these cars,they come through my town on a regular basis. TILX #200505, #200216 , GATX #69135, #70391, DBCX #9812, #9947, SFLX #23018 , DOWX #79515, #79613 (ETCX #821018, #421534 I kitbashed those two) , DOWX #72343 and UTLX #220918, #647249 , #902282, #902324, #100037, #57995. Some cars have a larger diameter tank body. Give me a quote . :D
@DansRailroad20118 жыл бұрын
I would love to see some of your custom built tank cars, it's the one thing I would love to do more of but the issue of tank body dimensions stands as a road block everytime. Sure you can hack a Walthers or Athearn tank body in half and splice it together but if you're after modeling a general purpose ACF car or UTLX car, the tank body will still be way to small. WE NEED MORE TANK CARS, PERIOD! And I don't mean throwing more paint schemes on old models, we need new cars in general.
