Here in Winnipeg MB Canada we have had snow for a while. We're keeping an eye on what is happening "south of the border," wondering if a blizzard (like a foot or more) is coming our way. ( Has to be more than two or three inches to shut us down. )

@ricgal50 Sucks I won't be getting my 7 inches of snow with a winter storm here in Newark Ohio I've gone 8 years & 3,246 days since I got it I might as well give up i won't get it this winter feels like a total loss anyway I wish God would answer my prayer because i've been praying for it for a long time I feel like I don't hany face anymore cause God constantly lets me down & it always has to be southern ohio the great lakes the northeast east coast & other areas that get hit with seven inches of snow with a winter storm all the time Cause every winter for newark ohio feels like a complete & total failure to me That's why i'm upset and depressed 😢😢😢😭😭😭

A funny thing. A lot people get caught up in their own "self-importance." They forget that certain governments and the US have more of their personal information than any of us could get from simple holding a camera outside of a house. It's definitely a level of paranoia that I have gotten very uncomfortable with. Good on you for not giving anyone the satisfaction. I guess he probably felt pretty stupid when the cop told him you (who he probably knows through your activities) had a right to film trains from a public roadway. lol Hang on in there brotha!

Jason, You were wondering what was going on with those boxcars. Considering they are all from the same owner, they were probably all in storage, and the fact that it’s the time of the year; it seems evident that these cars were moved at the request of the owner. "Why" could be a variety of different things. Maybe a better contract with another railroad, maybe wants to trade them out with others in service, maybe wants to make sure everything still works after an extensive downtime, etc. You also asked the other day what your viewers would like to see. I, for one, would like to see more switching action. Drone footage would be even better when multiple sidings are involved. I’ve often wondered how conductors keep things straight, grabbing the correct cars and shoving them wherever.

Only 2 owners. As timtenn noted, SD9 has only one previous owner! Reserve Mining 1955 to 1986. E&LS 1986-present. Many roads used Pyle National lights beyond SP & D&RGW

A few years ago my brother and I were train watching from the local hospital parking lot, great view of the NBSR eastern yard, when two young ladies accused us of taking pictures of them and were going to call the police. I explained but suggested, if you wish. they walked off. was one of the cars leaking a oil product?

It's been that color at least 30 years or more. Saw some old ELS railfan videos from the early 90's and it was the same. They had several SD-9's that color.

Paint doesn't fix track. The cost to paint a single loco is ~$60-100k. That would be better used in track maintenance. Even the big 5 don't have all locos in same scheme.

I watched the video. You were in a public place, and as everyone knows...well they should know anyway, you're entitled to video/take pics of anything you can see. No expectation of privacy out in public. You weren't trespassing on his property to make that video. I never heard you say anything accusatory. People like to hear what they want to hear.
