My mom bought the CD, I heard it in my car. It is prob the best album they ever made. The saxofon solo in the second song just knocked me out, I was floored

You got a point here, Melanie. How much we love a new album by The Stones it’s too early to judge how well it’ll keep up! I’m a huge Stones fan (-for the last 45 years or so). But I also remember how much I loved A Bigger Bang, Bridges To Babylon and so forth.... Nothing wrong with these albums, quite the contrary, but many years later they’re not my first choice when I want to hear some Stones music. The Stones are struggling with their own legend, which is quite natural. Still, I love Hackney Diamonds and think it’s truly the best studio work they’ve made for many years. Only time will tell how good it keeps up...

I dig this new Stones album! They sound energetic, soulful, driven, and fuckin' rocking! The only track that I'm not feeling is Dreamy Skies. They cover several genres and styles of music such as hard rock, blues, gospel, punk, soul, country, and blues rock. The musicianship and guitar playing is consistent throughout. I was almost moved to tears when they ended the album with both a gospel and ultimately the Rolling Stones blues. Mick Jagger and Keith Richards put down some soulful Mississippi Delta blues on that joint! This was a heartfelt tribute to the great Muddy Waters who gave them their band name and inspired them to become musicians. This would be a perfect ending to a monumental career. I thought that Lady GaGa was a pop star nobody until I heard this Sweet Sounds Of Heaven. This white chic has some awesome pipes and soul! It's obvious that she has studied singers like the great Aretha Franklin. Mick Jagger and Charlie Watts attended gospel church choirs with Aretha singing with an amazing soul that will never be matched!

Stones fan since 1965.For a bunch of dudes still rocking at 80 it's a solid release. If I had a comment it would be that sSweet Sounds is a gospel tune and hence needed a black woman's touch.GaGa tried!

Great observation! I remember watching the Amazing Grace video with the great and incomparable Aretha Franklin and this dynamite all-Black American choir in Los Angeles during the early 1970s, just singing with an intense soul that can NEVER be touched! Ironically, both Mick Jagger and Charlie Watts were in attendance. They were one of the few white people in the audience. The Rolling Stones are purveyors of Black American music! They could never have existed without it! I thought that Lady GaGa was a pop star nobody until I heard this song! She has some awesome pipes and is surprisingly soulful for a white chic! An outstanding performance. She has obviously studied singers like Aretha.

What would you consider to be a better rock album that's out today that's better than Hackney Diamonds? Why do you think it's boring? What is your favorite Stones album? And are you comparing it to that album? #nrvpunks?
