This is the zenith of their career. You can hear all of their influences come together at the same time. Unbelievable. All those years touring with their musical heroes in the 60' s. Every musical style.

Nice find. Thanks for posting! My favorite of all time! They peaked with this album. I’ve bought it several times in different forms LP cassette CDs and reissues. Money well spent. Most listened to. You know I was Mick singing to the instrumental Rocks Off. And Keith playing along with Tumblin Dice. Still sounds as great today as it did when it came out.

Great set of outtakes. Most of us have heard the All Down the Line acoustic but the others are rather new. The last one is the basis for the bonus disc version that they overdubbed.

Rehearsal tracks recorded on the Stones label via their mobile studio, now in a museum in Calgary. Brilliant musicianship from everyone.

There is another instrumental bundled in the Hopkins tapes as well. Sounds sort of like a cross between "Wild Horses" and "Winter".

Who organized and wrote the horn charts?? Never heard them so good, they were too buried in the mix. Very New Orleans horns, to my ears, real Gulf coastie,,,,,,wow this is great!

Don't know if they used an arranger or told the players what they wanted and they did a "head arrangement" on the spot. Very interesting question, but I'd bet it was the latter. Did Jimmy Miller know how to write horn arrangements? Maybe it was him.

Find the early to mid sixties instrumental (studio) versions more interesting . After-Math is a real treat. These sound too much like very low-Fi demos . Would've loved to hear a "Torn and Frayed" instro . As a free download this is interesting ofcourse . Now we only need the instrumental studio versions next.
