I was 11 in 1971, already a regular drug user, the Beatles clean cut imagine was replaced by what the papers called, the dirty, long hair rolling stones, I loved it, they were considered wild, they wrote great songs back then, every album that came out you knew there'd be really good songs.

I bought Exile on Main Street tabs book. EVEN I, a 70 yr old with 6 months slide experience, used it to play M Taylor’s lead and solos on Stop Breaking Down, a favorite for almost 50 years. Took some work, but was so surprisingly doable. A slight tuning adjustment clearly shown. I’d say that anybody who plays or is thinking about playing and loves that song OUGHT TO JUST DO THIS.

¡ Bad @ss ! My dad's 71 and in a somewhat impaired state. He didn't care much for the Stones,' but I can't get enough of 'em. I need to finally get around to playing the guitar, and when I do, I'm going to take your suggestion in stride. Thanks for the comment and keep on rockin.'

@@Lunatic4Bizcas Great of you to respond. My best to your Dad. I had once played, and, in exploring taking it up again, I found that arthritis in my thumbs went from mild to mild plus. I realized that slide was possible with some adjustments and finding songs that I could play, sometimes with adapting the song a itself a little. Alternate tunings help the more you rely on slide. Open string tuning with a three string cigar box guitar got me into the game, and I went on from there. A fellow named Puckett puts out some super related KZbin videos. It’s a heck of a kick to realize it’s doable. Best of luck, and thanks again for responding.
