Jagger's lyrics are stunning to me. However Mick Taylor is beyond any words that I can put together. I love ❤ it as if God is using him ( mick Taylor ) to encourage me. I hope that doesn't sound a bit too much for some who may read this. I am like many a major fan of Taylor and it ( his work) doesn't get old. It improves as I listen and as time moves ahead. Thanks Stones. Blessings to you Mick Taylor...

Absolutely. But as far as I know it was Jagger's riff, using Keef-style open G tuning but with all 6 strings on the guitar. Easily my favourite song on my favourite Stones album although Can't You Hear Me Knockin comes a close second... and another genius contribution from Mick Taylor. They should've credited him... no wonder he walked... especially as he joined as a teetotal vegetarian and left as a junkie, poor sod.

Mick Jagger's song. Keith did not play anything on it. Mick plays acoustic and rhythm electric guitar and Mick T plays the lead. While Keith said Jagger can't feel enough to play electric, Mick T was very pleasant about Mick's electric guitar abilities which says a lot. Great song, great poetry and as usual, Mick T adds so much with his lead guitar solo.

Mick Taylor couldn’t keep up with them. Jagger & Richards were picking on him sometimes, dunno why, what I heard. Maybe because Taylor had a beautiful knowledge of the guitar, Keith got jealous, naaaa, it was the drugs too, lots of Heroin, booze, girls, rehearsals, cramming the tours in. Heavy dose! Went to see Mick Taylor Band at a place called(believe it or not) Sticky Fingers! They were brilliant, tight and funky, bluesy. Think he’s still got a band together. 😎

Nope there are differences. The vocalized intro "one, two, three, four" itself is lacking on this version. Also, on the LP version you hear no real strong emphasis of the backing vocals during the "a day that broke up your mind" line like you do in this version (please listen 0:14). There are more subtle differences, mostly in the nuanced vocal phrasing (both lead and backing) delivery, but those two jump right out at this listener.

Is there someone who can give me even a far idea about the line "Love is the way they say is really strutting out", please? I'm italian and not deeply familiar with English.
@jjjohnson687 ай бұрын
Has to be taken in the way you want to take it to make any sense I think. I was just trying to do that exact thing myself. To me the lyric meant that love is the best thing you can ever experience, and when life's got you down, love is the best thing to take you out of your depressing blues.
@calendulabbra7 ай бұрын
@@jjjohnson68 thank you so much for have taken the time for this. You're very kind. What gets me still perplexed is that the dictionary says that 'strutting out' means having a kind of very pompous and proud attitude. This can be related to your interpretation in a certain extent, and anyway your interpretation fits perfectly with the general sense of the song. By the way, your answer has been a great help for me and I still thank you.
