This is one of the greatest, possibly most underrated, rock songs of all-time, and the best "slow" rock solo in guitar rock history...for sure in the Stones' amazing catalogue (IMHO). Beautiful and haunting, Mick Taylor teases you with a few lines after that first verse as a preview to the soaring, majestic, very emotive solo that begins around 3:22. Epic...RIP Charlie Watts.

They Are my Favorite since 1969 I Was 9 yrs old seen them in 1975 at Cleveland Baseball Stadium and in 2015 Heinz Field in Pittsburgh I was 55 and they Played like it WAS 1975 Mick Jagger Ran for 2.5 Hours He was Amazing Kieth Richards was also and all 3 Orignals.

I’ve always felt Mick Taylor had been listening to the early ‘70s era Carlos Santana at this point. His solo has a lot more than a passing resemblance to Carlos’ playing on the Caravanserai album. “Song Of The Wind” seems like it was a template for Mick’s solo here. Mick Taylor at his best and in his prime. One of the few guitarrists, who feels and understands what music is. It is a pity that we can hear and admire him so seldom directly and or in the net. But it is probably the destiny of a genius who cannot be seen and enjoyd by everyone and everywhere. Having been a member of of John Mayall's band and of the Stones and having worked together with Jack Bruce he has become an eternal icon of blues.We can hope that he will be active in the blues scene many years ahead.

Funny, I think it's very much a coincidence that the Stones did their best work then, as they were peaking as songwriters, as many bands do around the seven-year mark. I love Mick Taylor, but Clapton or any talented blues-rock guitarist would've brought similar qualities to the Stones. Also, Beggar's Banquet and Let It Bleed were both written and recorded with minimal to no involvement of Taylor, who's not at all on BB, and plays minor parts on two songs on LIB.

One of those what-ifs...Oh what if Mr. Taylor had remained a Stone? Of the Brian replacements, he made a deeper, far more interesting footprint than Ronnie. I mean, I love Ronnie, but the Stones had a very unique sound while Mick Taylor was a collaborator, compared to the rest of their history. We would have more things like this, Fingerprint File, Winter, Moonlight Mile, etc.
