Rolling Thunder March, composed by Henry Fillmore in 1916, arranged for three pianos (six hands) by Gary Davis.
Happy New Year! It's the first day of 2024 and I thought what better way to kick things off than with this amazing six hand arrangement of the "Rolling Thunder" March. This style of march is called a 'screamer' - typically written for and played at the circus to help get the crowds riled up. They are faster and more technical than the average military march (the wind ensemble version has a very demanding trombone part!), are shorter overall, and have less dynamic variation throughout.
Gary wrote this arrangement and commissioned me to record it last year, and I'm thrilled to finally share it after all the work that went into learning it and editing the video! He has also composed several original ragtime piano pieces, including this one I recorded last year, "Double Sunrise": • Double Sunrise Ragtime...
Hope you all enjoy! 🎆🧨🎪
