I was thinking of disconnecting your trailer from your truck after you have the trailer lined up then get your truck lined up might have helped with plywood base. Good video and thanks for showing the other side of this business. My maxxd roll off should be ready for pick up in January.
@ricardoreyna17633 жыл бұрын
I just got my maxxD out of the mud too! The ply wood helped. I just placed it more strategically than that. Thank you for sharing the experience. I didn’t know the dumpster would sink that far too.
@rollingops3 жыл бұрын
It's hard to tell by the video. But the slight hump in front of the truck is just a huge mud pile. We have done plywood before and never had a problem. This was like playing in a muddly slip in slide but with a wall in front of the truck.

Keep it up...you are helping people with your videos. You have a good attitude, good work ethic, and it would appear a "glass half full" prospective on life/work/dealing with problems. In a previous video you mentioned how you always seem to be youngest in your line of work, and that people question how you've gotten your truck, trailer, etc. Having that drive, interest, and knowledge at your age just shows you're ahead of the curve!

Old video, i know, just wondering if you could have used the trailer winch to the tree and back to the truck to straighten out the truck? Drag the rear end around? Just a thought. Keep on KEeping on Thanks JEFF
@PLAYBOYNOCOOLANT Жыл бұрын
Two things I noticed, you could have disconnected the trailer, then re positioned the truck. Also, a large capacity hydraulic pump jack can jack the bin up slightly so you can get your lumber under the rollers!
@JTFireman243 жыл бұрын
If you have some welded trailer ramps that may help you to get traction better than the plywood. Tough situation. Another option that would totally suck would be to take an empty dumpster and transfer the load to it then come back for the stuck dumpster.

Not sure if it’s already been said but some treated two by twelfths underneath your rollers when you drop off the container would help you immensely when you’re picking it up in situations like that and a winch on the front of your truck. I’ll keep it so you never get stuck. Keep up the hustle though love the videos.!!
@michaelfillmer71283 жыл бұрын
I put 2x6s under the rollers. it keeps them from getting stuck as well as protects customer's driveways from scratches. Those roller DO scratch concrete! I cut them 45 inches long and drill plywood squares on the ends to keep the rollers from sliding off.
@rollingops3 жыл бұрын
Yea I typically do the same with 2x4s when I drop in grass and on nice driveways! But I dropped this in a hurry trying to get out of town. Lesson learned for sure

I am new to your channel I'm just going back through and watching all your other stuff but you probably know by now but if you want to harbor freight and got you a little snatch block and a small chain you could chain it up to the side of your trailer and get either the dumpster to move over or your trailer to move over a lot easier because you will be at a better angle. And as I get pretty cool cuz we live fairly close to each other. I'm at Granite City. So far I like your content we both kind of got a little hustle going on.
@rollingops Жыл бұрын
I honestly should have done that. But it was hard to tell in this incident but the slop of the hill in front of me with the frost and sew made it nearly impossible to get even remotely lined up. But looking back there are definitely a few things I could of tried, knowing what I know now! Appreciate you looking back on where this all kinda started!

if they overload it, how do you go about getting your money for the overage if they typically already paid up front for the dumpster? if you send an invoice how can you be sure they pay/hold them accountable?
@rollingops2 жыл бұрын
It's tough sometimes, but there is an option to keep a card on file. Similar to if you stay at a hotel. But typically I just follow up with a second invoice and let them choose how they want to pay.

Blue gator ground protection mats. Not cheap but buy enough plywood and you will wish you spent the money. Also never put a dumpster on the ground with out putting 2 x 8's or 10's under the rollers. I would do that even on driveways. You will understand once some one accuses you of damaging a driveway.

Chiming here about the “entry level” drone, so somewhat unrelated: you’ve posted a video flying over people-can’t do that, especially if you don’t have your Part 107 license. It’s easy to get. If I can pass the test, anyone can! & even then, you want to be careful about drone video posts. I love my droning, so I picked up on that part of this video. Also, great channel & good, heartfelt information-thanks. I’m a 30+ year UPS driver looking to retire in about 18 months. Just dropped $90,000.00 on a Ram 2500 & a three dumpster roll-off system with a flatbed plate for hauling tractors & a skid a steer. Lots of money, but you have to spend it to make it & along the front range of Colorado where every part of the economy is exploding, I hope to do well….we’ll see. 30+ years of packages is long enough. Keep posting.
