It is my overall favorite next to Lilikoi aka Passion Fruit. Thank you for sharing!

Rollinia grown in the tropics tastes quite different. It's not jelly it's more "snotty" consistency and the spikes are usually much bigger on the skin

Maybe that depends on the type, I live in Hawaii and it looks and tastes as Daleysfr's description. I have not ever had mine snotty. Where do you live?
@VeggiesOnTour Жыл бұрын
Its true, it’s more snotty and not very pleasant 👍🏻
@clubgus074 жыл бұрын
Yeah I got to buy one of these from Tropical fruit world and the texture was I hate to say it snotty but good snotty jelly like. It was refreshing lemony taste in-fact you could probably put the pulp into a trifle instead of jelly.

I'll give my review hopefully 4-6 years from now if it gets there here in Sydney, let's see. Looking forward to seeing it make it through its first Summer & Winter.

I just purchased 2 of these from your farm. Wondering if they will fruit this year, do they prefer full sun or part shade?
@organicgrow44404 жыл бұрын
Daleys usually don't reply here, they're very good with emailed questions just include mobile/location order@daleysfruit.com.au. Which climate are you growing them in? If it's a seedling it will need 4+ years to fruit. If it is a grafted one it could this year or generally up to 2 years, with that being said nature is a living thing I have seed grown mango fruit in 1.5 years. My guess is part shade from the burn on my seedling Rollinia leaves but I'm unsure, I guess depends where you are.

@@organicgrow4440 I'm on the gold coast, they seem to be doing well next to the house, probably 5 hours of sun per day
@organicgrow44404 жыл бұрын
@@Interesting_stuff-_-51 nice, if they are happy that's great, sounds like they do like the full sun. What else are you growing aside from the 2 Rollinias?
@@Interesting_stuff-_-51 wow very nice! Excellent hope you reap what you've sown & enjoy. I'm planting 2 seedling achacha this week.

Can u graft rollina to cherimoya or sugar apple tree?
@shanghaimuts4 жыл бұрын
Also in Auckland. Would love to be able to grow that here in N.Z but looks like I'd need a glass house or something similar.
@organicgrow44404 жыл бұрын
Maybe start with seeds - for a cheaper trial.

If a Rollinia rates 8 out of ten then what is ten? I can't think of a better fruit than the Rollinia! It is ten out of ten or one hundred out of one hundred! In my opinion nothing beats a good and ripe Rollinia eaten chilled out of the fridge!
@johnmcneill9234 жыл бұрын
Hi Kath Will this graft onto Cherimoya or atamoya mother plants? Since you don’t ship plants overseas... what about scions???🤔😉
@daleysfr4 жыл бұрын
We always graft Rollinia onto Rollinia. Sorry we do not have any scionwood available.
@johnmcneill9234 жыл бұрын
daleysfr ... thanks. How many varieties of Rollinia are there? If it is truly in the anona Family then Cherimoya and atamoya should be graftable. I have very limited space so forced to create “Frankenstein” trees 🤔🤭😉

@@johnmcneill923 Living in an apartment, I don't have the space for lots of plants, especially trees. My plan is to create fruit cocktail trees, too. 😊
