I wonder, if you have a story NPC that you want the characters to meet, one that will not seek them out nor will they know about him until they meet, would you move him around, placing him in different locations and situations until they meet him or do you leave him there, doing his own thing and maybe discard that story if it has a time limit

Most of the time a party will only see tye tip of the iceberg of what a GM actually writes. I don't know what Adam does particularly but recycling unused ideas would certainly keep them from going to waste.

Speaking of baking. My great uncle put some money away for me a long time ago: 200 Lei. Now that wasn't a lot of money at the time even, but you could get like a carton of eggs for 3 Lei at the time, so hey, it was something. One revolution and over 20 years later, 1$ = 40 THOUSAND Lei. And yes, it's still only 200 Lei in the saving still, no interest gains at all. Rekt
