Rolls-Royce Deutschland, headquartered in Dahlewitz near Berlin, is Germany's only fully certified engine manufacturer with complete systems capability for civil and military jet engines. The site is certified for the development, assembly, testing, monitoring and maintenance of our engines. It is home to the production of our Pearl and BR700 engines as well as a number of test facilities for large engines or the Power Gearbox for the new Rolls-Royce UltraFan engine.
In Oberursel we have is a state-of-the-art manufacturing site for high-tech rotating parts and the Rolls-Royce Centre of Excellence for blisks and turbine discs.
Around 100 employees in Munich and Erlangen develop innovative electric and hybrid-electric power and propulsion systems for aircraft, to deliver the Rolls-Royce electrification strategy and to help Rolls-Royce Deutschland to play a major role in the ‘third era’ of aviation.
Rolls-Royce powers combat jets, transporter aircraft, and helicopters in the German Air Force, including the EJ200 on the Eurofighter Typhoon, the RB199 on the Tornado, the TP400 on the A400M Atlas transporter, and the AE2100 on the incoming C-130J. The German Air Force will upgrade the Federal Government’s VIP long-haul transport fleet with three A350-900 XWB.
To maintain our unique, innovative edge, we have four University Technology Centres with German universities. Since 2006, Rolls-Royce Deutschland is working closely with the first established UTC at the BTU Cottbus. Moreover, Rolls-Royce Deutschland participates in various government-funded research programmes, which results in new cutting-edge R&D, supports SME suppliers, and strengthens RRD’s existing complete systems capability for civil and military jet engines.
