A few years ago we bought one of these rollup covers. Immediately we noticed that two of the cedar boards were bowed. We reached out to Brian and he sent us two new boards. Fast forward a year or so, and we noticed that the rubber part that the cedar boards were attached to which is what contacts the tub was starting to fail. Not so much with how it sealed, at the time, but more so that the black, I’ll call it paint for lack of a better term, was coming off in one spot. Within a month or so it was 6 inches across. I reached out to Brian and he said there was nothing they could do because it was out of warranty. Not just for reference our tub is in an enclosed porch so there’s no sunlight bearing down on it, no snow no weather of any kind. Over the couple three years since then a lot of areas have started peeling to the point where clogs are filters. Also, at this point in time, all of the Cedar boards are starting to bow to some degree so it doesn’t seal properly in many areas, especially on the corners and along the edges, perpendicular to the cedar boards. Another thing that I have noticed is that if you leave the lights on in the tub and you look at where the cover meets the tub you can actually see the lights which means that it’s not sealed. To make it even worse, when the Jets come on the air from the Jets actually lifts the cover enough so that you can feel the hot air coming out just about anywhere around it. This keeps our 3 season porch 15° or more higher than the ambient temperature outside. I noticed in their video in hindsight that they make it look so easy to roll up but they only roll up the first couple feet or show you a picture of when it’s fully rolled up and then they unroll it. It becomes heavier and heavier as you roll it up and if you have a 7 foot tub like us by the time you get halfway, you’re struggling to roll it. I also can’t imagine how this cover would survive outside in the wind. If the Jets have enough push to lift the cover that I can’t only imagine what a good gust of wind would do. I certainly don’t recommend this to anybody.

I’m in south texas and the sun has just about destroyed my swim spa covers that came with the spa. Do you guys offer anything for the SUN Damage issues we have down here?

Be Forewarned got the cover that I received on the surface of that cover that faces down into the tub started peeling after the warranty ran out, about a year I think. Now the areas where it’s peeling her all over the place and are dropping flakes of the material into the tub on a constant basis. We’re looking into new covers now, but I certainly wouldn’t buy another one of these. We have principal filters, but they all always get clogged with this black material from the cover. I don’t recommend this cover. Besides this issue, see the comment that I made under the guy from Texas. I wanted to know what the material was. We’ve had so many issues with this cover is even funny. At first, I thought it was such a great idea, but nothing about it is impressing me here anymore.

Insulating with 5 inches of water, hmmm?

he's saying if the sponge inside becomes saturated, then it loses it's insulating value. IOW insulating with a 5 inch wet sponge is not good!
