Look people...stop going at Charisma for joking with Cole. They've talked about how clumsy she is in other videos. They're being playful. She's never once (any all the videos they have) disrespected, talk down to, demoralized, or mistreated Cole. She is loving, thoughtful, selfless, & giving. If you don't know this already...then you should watch their videos & get a clue before commenting! The negativity in the comments is sad. Cole & Charisma...I know y'all are about positivity & y'all have mentioned the crazy comments y'all get but, I've never seen it until this video & WOW...the nerve of some people LOL! I had an uncle who was paralyzed. As a kid, I remember he would have to sit on the toilet for HOURS and just wait for the bowel movement to happen. He would take stool softeners and would just have to wait for his body to expel the bowel movement on its on. I remember him always having to drink magnesium citrate. But he had a lot of issues with passing bowel movements. This often left him with bowel impactions and one time it damn near killed him. One thing that REALLY helped him was having his feet elevated. He had this stool that had a little border around 3 of the 4 edges so his feet couldn’t fall off since his knees tended to pull to the sides, making his feet fall off regular stools. And he cut down a pool noodle, sliced it down the middle, and put it on the edges so he could rest his legs on the side easier since it was leaving these massive indentations on his legs, since he’d often be there for hours, and didn’t have any control to keep his legs upright and off the edge. It was cutting in to his legs pretty bad for a while until he did the pool noodle thing. I’ve actually seen stools online that come with foot straps but that may be hard to reach if someone can’t bend forward and has limited finger/grip ability. It seems in the last 15 years things have gotten a bit more efficient for both number 1 and number 2. If I remember correctly he had a permanent catheter. And going #2 for him was something I could tell he really didn’t care for doing because it took soooo long. He would be sitting in the bathroom for like 3 hours and I’d be sitting outside the bathroom door with the bathroom door cracked, reading to him or talking to him. We had an extra bathroom downstairs that kinda became his bathroom when he stayed with us, and my parents put a shelf up in the corner of the room so he could have a tv in there, as this was long before smartphones. His injury was caused by him falling through a roof while on a roofing job. I wish he was around today to be able to see all the advancements for people with spinal cord injuries. All the accessibility there is now. Also, i KNOW he’d have been super excited about Neuralink and devices like it. He’d always tell me that one day spinal cord injuries would be a simple fix. He genuinely believed it. I never knew how that could be true but it appears that we’re moving in that direction.

My son is a quad like you. He lives on his own. He caths his self using a speedi cath. It comes in a container that looks like a blue toothbrush holder. This VaPro Pocket may help reduce UTI’s. The speedy Cath needs gloves and the VaPro Pocket has the glove on the catheter. Speedy Cath needs you need to be near a toliet, the VaPro Pocket has a reflux valve so the urine stays in the bag. You can empty it when you get to the bathroom. Great for SCI patients to use in bed. Thank you for sharing your bathroom tips. It's *reality* with those suffering from quad/paraplegia. I know when my son first became paralyzed over ten years ago after awaking from a coma from a bout with bilateral pneumonia during the H1N1 epidemic...it was hard at first, 'embarrassing', if you will, for him to void this way...although now he's had to have an ostomy, supra pubic and now a ureter catheter placed due to many physical complications associated with paraplegia that most folks aren't aware of. He's currently in hospital being treated for a twisted intestine blockage/hernia that affects numerous paraplegics. I quit my job to be first and foremost a fulltime *Mother* as well as his caregiver. Life is good, no matter the obstacles we're given. The information you two beautiful souls share are so invaluable. I just wanted to reach out and say, *THANK YOU* both for sharing your journey with us. ♡

Ok, this video is one of my best for 3 reasons: Cole becoming independent is going to make their life as a couple much easier. It's going to boost Cole's confidence even more(he already has plenty) It goes to show how far love can go. He so badly wants to make sure he doesn't put a strain on their relationship that he is determined to try until he can do his own ICs himself and everything it takes to relieve Charisma who is very sweet by the way. Very well done you two. Charisma you should be proud of yourself, pushing Cole be more independent is love all the way. I am so happy for you guys. Just like Cole I'm paralyzed under the level where my spinal cord is damaged (which in my case is in the Th12-L1 - waist - area. That's a very high MMC). What all of us with MMC, and probably the same with other people with injured spinal cords as well, have in common is that the muscles controlling the bladder (and bowels) don't work like they should.

Sometimes I get SO frustrated when my hands won't work or are swollen and numb...I could scream. Or when my back hurts so bad I can barely move...but any time I start to throw myself a pity party, I find myself coming back to this channel...just to see someone so differently abled than myself with even less mobility be so genuinely happy is really good for my soul. After feeling like a jerk, I'm able to pull myself out of all that and look around and appreciate my many blessings, instead. So thank you for that. 💙

Hello, may I ask why you were worried?
@patmebg37944 жыл бұрын
I was worried for Charisma. I've seen probably four of such interracial videos that look so wonderful at first, most times with the woman showing way too much skin on the thumbnail. Then usually the woman comes to say they are no longer together. I'd gotten so pissed off that I just keep scrolling when I see such videos. I only started watching Cole and Charisma's videos because I happened upon the video of Cole's accident and I wanted to follow up on his story.

My heart broke while you were reading the hurtful words written by trolls. Please just delete that stuff. As soon as you see it’s nasty stop reading and delete. Unfortunately hate and racism is a part of our world. Please stop 🛑 reading the hate. You are two of Gods beautiful creations and you are perfect in His eyes. Cole you are a miracle. Your alive and have the love of an amazing beautiful woman. You are living life and doing it well. God Bless both of you. Please don’t change. You have a wonderful life ahead.

I understand that this is an awkward subject for most but as someone with a declining neurological illness you bring me so much peace. Just knowing that how and when and why and how you guys feel about it

This is the first video I’ve seen of yours and I DID get the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald reference. 😂 I grew up in a home with a disabled (cerebral palsy/developmental disabilities) uncle and love how y’all talk about accessibility. You’re such a fun loving and beautiful couple, I can’t wait to watch more of your videos! ❤️

Charisma, you are to be commended for your love and dedication. I do understand what a quad goes through; my brother for 5 yrs lived as one from surgery for a tumor on his spine that left him paralized much the same way. May God continue to bless the both of you.

I FEEL YOU. I FEEL EXACTLY THE SAME. ONE OF THE REASONS WHY I BROKE UP W MY EX WAS , CUZ SHE LEFT ME HANGIN WHEN I NEEDED HER MOST. I NEEDED HER AS MY ROCK. SHE IS ABLED BODY AND EVERYTHING. SO, IF SHE CANT HELP ME PHYSICALLY WHAT CAN SOMEONE IN A WHEELCHAIR HELP ME, PHYSICALLY. SOMETHINGS, YOU NEED A PHYSICALLY NOT TO MUCH OF EMOTIONAL HELP.

So glad you posted yesterday. When I heard the bell, I immediately stopped watching my movie and tuned in. I love to see a young couple being responsible and using wisdom. I know Cole is trying to get more independent so that he can do more things for himself (so proud of you Cole) but in the back of my mind, I'm thinking you're planning ahead for the triplets😊. I'm expecting multiples because life and death is in the power of the tongue and you have what you say. Since you confess MULTIPLES you shall have MULTIPLES...IJS😊💃🏽🙌🏼💃🏽🙌🏼💃🏽🙌🏼May God continue to Bless and keep you and enlarge your territory! ❤❤❤
