May I just say that you are one crafty lil lady! I happened to pick up the memory dex on clearance at my local Michaels Store quite some Time ago and it is sitting about 3 feet away from me on top of my embellishments Storage container. And I must look at it 100 times a day and out of those hundred times -about five times a day I can't help but wonder, " what am I going to do with this stinking cute thing? " I love it but I hate that it's collecting dust because I don't have a punch and then I come on KZbin, and you my friend, have got your crafty thing going on! So many ideas and not just with this but with everything and always very clear when it comes to instructions very to the point, always short videos but you always just nail it... ( and love me my short videos that are packed with nothing but good stuff because I go through way too much data on my phone watching you and every other crafty scrappy amazing lady out there just like yourself on KZbin.) Thank you so much for the information the inspiration and a little pick me up that I really needed right now. Your voice is always so cheerful, so when I'm down and I can put put something on like this and know that I'll feel better and be informed by the end of the video and I can't thank you enough for that. Wow, I've been doing this for decades and still have two of mine. It started when I lost a divider and decided to use my scrap booking paper to make new ones that were more "me ". Love your tips, I'll have to check out Joann's.

I remember drawing on these when my mom worked in an air conditioning office,I was around 8 yrs old. my mom would keep them and put them in the work office cork board for the workers to enjoy. I loved coloring on them and using the sharpie marker to write my name and draw flowers on them. now to see such pretty art being put on them. love it!! good memories.😊

I was at Hobby Lobby and JoAnns this past weekend in our neck of the woods...Mt Vernon, WA and they had clearance for these items. Picked up the hole punch at HL and dies plus the card inserts at JoAnns. Now I just need the Roledex or Memorydex. Wish I could have found that on clearance because everywhere I look online they want so much..as far as the Memorydex. Thank you for your video...love the tips.

Lolly, I have been keeping the little confetti from punching my papers! It's a sickness. I am using my old Happy Planner as an art journal and when I'm punching the holes the papers usually painted so I keep them. I am working on a rolodex I used to use at work. I have a coloring book calendar I got at DT and I'm cuting out four or so a week from it and making cards. It is fun. Thanks for sharing.

I'm like Tristan, I have this cute craft too along with the punch but I'm not doing anything either. Your video is so inspiring and when I try to sit and make something with it I just shake my head in shame because it just doesn't look good enough. Don't stop trying. Sometimes it helps to look at a card you really like and try to immitate it with your supplies and colors. It helps to practice layouts, layering, etc. Then just say you were inspired by So-and-so's card when you share it. Hang in there and don't give up!

I make ATC's and have been trying to get my friends interested in the rolladex cards. I didn't know until today that Heidi Swapp had her own line of Memorydex stuff, so I'm gonna have to get trotting to Joann's and see what they have left of her stuff. I found Heidi's punch on ebay, however, I found a rolladex punch at an office store a long time ago. Thanks for the other ideas on what to use the cards for.

I've been trying to get one of those rolodex punches for a month or so now. I got a bunch of rolodex cards from a thrift store (2 sizes) and even one of the old roller thingies for the smaller cards. I automatically thought to use them for samples of different types of collages, journal cards, pockets etc. Love the band aide cards, but not available either. ☺♥

Yes, American Crafts discontinued the Memory Dex line right as the craft became popular. Due to popular demand, they re-released some of the tools (dies, holders, and I think punch?) in limited quantities, but they are again hard to find. When we post on social media, we use #bringbackmemorydex and #heidiswapp to draw atttention to this problem. Also, the playing cards were a one-off. Hi Lolly, In case anyone cannot find the Heidi Swapp dies: Just an FYI~ Please note that Papertrey Ink has 3 dies, for left, right, and center tabs. They are 4" x 2.5" at $7.00 for each die, sold separately. So it can be pricey when buying all 3. The die name is: Papertrey Ink - Desktop File Card Die. Coordinating die name: The Vault - Desktop File: Inspiration Stamp Set. Stamp set is very pricey.

Shelly B seems we only need a left tab and center tab die. Don't need a right tab die because we can turn the paper upside down and use a left tab die

I think they offer both right and left because it is a solid die, and may leave an "edge" when flipped over. But, who cares!!! We are gluing, and stapling everywhere on the card! :)

Yes there are two basic styles. The round one that spins is called rotary. and the other one is called a tray. So now that Heidi Swapp came up with her line of Rolodex goods, she calls her LINE of them "Memory Dex" -- the supplies and cards are interchangable.

There is a member who organizes a monthly swap. However, you never have to wait for that -- just ask another member to swap, once both you and the other member have fulfilled the requirement of having posted pics of at least 3 Dex cards you've created.

Rolodex is still available. Memory Dex is no longer in production, but there are still inventories of it out there. Stores are clearancing them out, Amazon has plenty, and our Facebook group has shared several free digital files to cut cards as well. What camera do you use? How do you get it over head and pan out and in?

I was using my Canon camera to film videos at first, but my videos were dark and grainy. When I switched to my cell phone for filming videos, the video quality was much better. So I still use the wood mount in the video I just gave you, but I rubberband my cell phone to it. To zoom in, I use two fingers on the screen and pinch together or pull apart, like when you are enlarging or shrinking a photo you are looking at on the phone.
