@@ExtraRoly It's the constant wiping on the skin. Especially on the chest with the amount of cross sections of nerves. It might be worth asking your artist to "Blot" the ink for a little while to give you a break, then do a whole wipe-down. Looks great though 💓

Hi Roly, I'm currently in NYC on my way with my family to have Christmas in Austria (from New Zealand.) We were walking through Central Park and I saw Calum and Luxeria. I'm in my 50s and don't usually go up to people but I did. They probably thought I was a freak but, as a New Zealander, I am very fond of my British You Tubers and it was nice to have a wee chat with them. I hope your chest settles down quickly. I had a dot tattooed on my sternum for radiation therapy years ago and that was so painful that, as much as I would like to get a tattoo, I just can't do it. Take care and have a happy Christmas.

Aw, that's probably the most painful place for a tattoo and especially the reason for one. The upper arm and upper leg aren't very painful at all. I've had both done and it wasn't until about 4 hours in that I asked my tattooist to start wrapping it up

I had open chest surgery, i can confirm anything in that area hurts like hell! I said I wanted the surgeons hand and scalpal tattoo next to the scar but changed my mind rather quickly.

I broke my ankle and I did not feel like telling people I broke it stepping off a curb and falling so instead I made up more interesting (and ridiculous) reasons. Like oh I was saving a bunch of orphaned puppies from a burning building...or I landed wrong when I jumped out of a plane. lol

Sternum, spine, and elbow were by far the worst for me (having tattoos everywhere), honestly it's probably just due to being straight on the bone with a higher number of nerve endings... absolutely LOVE your ink Roly, looking more and more gorgeous with every session!!! 🤩

I grew up very close to Brighton. (My hometown was VERY boring. Everytime a new shop was opening, we knew it was going to be another charity shop sort of thing). I spent so much time in Brighton and went back a few months ago after living abroad for 8 years. It feels so small now! But it's really nice to still see "the lanes" which are so diverse. If it wasn't so hot i'd have spent more time there.

This is the first "Extra Roly" I've watched since you mentioned in a recent video on your main channel and I subscribed a couple weeks ago - finally got around to it - and it's such a hoot!!! your tattoos are SO badass. been following for so long now roly omg, it's wild to see your tattoo journey, i love it so much. the chest is DEFINITELY a difficult area. i always say like on a scale of 1-10 for what i experienced, the sides were about a 2 and then it LEAPED to like a 7 or 8 going into the middle. i remember wanting to take a break when i got the first chest piece done. i didn't but it was the first time i was like WOW okay maybe i should consider this lmao. it makes me happy to see another passionate gamer getting pieces like this too omg (my first gaming related piece was a portrait of sombra from overwatch, my main). it's not something i personally see very often. the artwork is so fantastic and everything flows so SO well. you're doing amazing on your journey and i just love seeing/ hearing about it

I have tattoos on my hips, shoulder blades, arms, spine, and sternum. The sternum is the simplest and quickest design, and I thank GOD I hadn't picked anything more complex. It is the only one of my tattoos that made me cry. It was intensely painful. I can't imagine how bad getting your level of work on my chest would be.

They look so beautiful, the colours are crazy and the shading and transition between designs is so clean, I'm so jealous 😂 some people thing heavily coloured tattoos can be a bit risky/ scary, like I'm personally a bit scared to go too colourful with mine, but yours look absolutely stunning, and they totally suit you!

Hey bro, tattoos in areas where the flesh is minimal and skin is close to bone(ie sternum, spine, shoulder blade etc.) there is more likelyhood of hitting nerves as the concentration is higher. Love your ink

I have my entire torse, nipples, bellybutton ribs ect tattooed and i can confirm that its absolute agony. I also had to tap out on one session of my chest. I will also say that unfortunately the back is also quite uncomfortable, especially on the spine. That being said its totally worth it. Your tattoos are absolutely stunning! Has been amazing watching your tattoo transformation. Also sending good vibes from Exeter 😁

I have so many video suggestions since I've been rewatching your videos lol I just love you and your energy ! The energy you bring gives me such excitement and life ! You are just naturally so vibrant and your tattoos match you perfectly, love them and you so much ! You should film videos of you moving house, or packing up to move house if you havent already and then when you move into your house you should do an unpacking video as well. In the future you should do videos of you decorating here and there too. And all those videos would be perfect for you to add your little clip snip bits that you always add to all your other videos as well ! Quite possibly my absolute favourite designs and references for tattoos. PLEASE show us the Banjo-Kazooie tat when it's coloured. This makes me want to finally get inked. My friends, husband, and I went to visit our friends in the west of the United States. People were so friendly and wanted to make small talk. In just over halfway with my chest piece. It got more painful as she got towards the middle. I nearly had to tap out but I powered through. It's a very close second to getting all my fingers done. I also have my arms, legs and eat tattooed. Chest and fingers were a totally different beast!

It's so weird! My chest piece was easy peasy lemon squeezy! I've heard a lot of people say theirs was just awful. The top of my foot was dreadful, though. Like, #3 on the top three most pain I've ever been in list.

There can be a lot of reasons but some of the main ones: less muscle padding around the chest and ribs, there are some nerve chains that connect to other parts of your body (this is why back work is much more painful due to nerves being closer to the skin), and it's the frequency and length at which you get your work done. My suggestion would be to take longer breaks between sessions so you don't overwhelm your body. You could be hitting a general threshold that pushing through can lead to ink sickness or body fatigue. By the way its looks so good. Are you working toward a suit?
